A.S.K.

more from the Max Lucado book Come Thirsty. these are straight out of the "God's Body Glove" chapter.
  • what the hand is to the glove, the Spirit is to the Christian
  • as a glove responds to the strength of the hand, so you will respond to the leading of Christ to the point where you say, "I myself no longer live, but Christ lives in me" (Gal. 2:20)
  • the question is not, how can I have more of the Spirit? but rather, how can the Spirit have more of me?
  • Christ says, "Give me All. I don't want so much of your time & so much of your money & so much of your work: I want You..."
  • God's wings sustain you. God's engines empower you. You can flap like a fly & not accelerate this flight. it's your job to sit & trust: to receive.
  • Accept his power. you be the glove & let him get his hand deep into your life
  • Surrender to his plan. get rid of those cable-nibbling varmits
  • Keep at it. Unceasingly seek God's Spirit
  • Accept, Surrender, Keep at it. A.S.K.
you all probably want some sort of explanation for why i put these quotes up. but, they're more like reminders to me. this is what i gotta do, & keep doing.

so on Monday, we helped my sister move into her new condo. this is the first time i've seen this place. my parents, sister, & brother have all seen this place prior, only i haven't 'cuz i've been busy doing other things. anyway, the place is pretty nice, small, but nice. i wouldn't mind living in that kinda place myself.

anyway, while we were moving stuff & setting up the place, i couldn't help but get a little annoyed with my dad. he was just being overly bossy. bossing everyone around, telling us where to put what & why. i just ended up telling him that this isn't his place & that my sister should be deciding where to put what 'cuz it's her living space. but anyway, that's that.

Sunday, we went to a Mother's Day dinner for my grandma, & my mom's side of the family. we went to eat at Emerald's Chinese Restaurant. all the little ones are growing up so fast. Michael & Andrew are both in grade 4 (i think), Wendy's just completed her frosh yr at UT. Michelle & Janet are somewhere in highschool. Michelle is an all-star in badminton 'cuz she won a Gold medal at a meet, i forget which one. but she couldn't go to OFSAA 'cuz she was too young. lastly, there's Laura. i guess she's the mysterious one 'cuz i don't know if she's still in middle school or in highschool.

after dinner on the ride home, the bitching comes out. lol..we have such a nice family. i just keep to myself, i normally don't like to say negative things about other ppl unless it really bothers me, but my family likes to see the negatives in everything & everyone. they were ripping in particular one of our cousins. she's like a complete stranger to us. she doesn't say hi, or even acknowledges that we're there. that's kinda rude, i agree. should've at least introduced us to her baby & the father who was there. but nope, we know nothing. what's the baby's name? don't know. who's the dude? don't know. but do we care? not a single bit. she's a stranger to us.

but...whatever.

y'know, on Tuesday. when i got home from work, i found out that i was wearing one of my socks inside out. didn't even notice the whole day! i hope no one saw my socks. but then again, i wouldn't be embarrassed. it's a sock. who cares?

y'know what i noticed today? it's kinda funny how some ppl on the subway run inside the cars as fast as they can so they can grab a seat. hahaha, sometimes i can grab a seat if i wanted to, but i normally just let it go so that some elderly could sit. i'm young, i can stand. my bones are still strong. i just wish that i could sleep on the ride home. :P

tomorrow's gonna be a super long day! staying in at work until 6.30-7pm to make up for the lost hours today.

oh right, today. or more like yesterday. as i was bussing home from work, my hearing aid decides to go mental & die on me. literally. it lost all power. it's like a piece of..nothing now. just plastic. so, i had to go into the hearing center today to get it looked after, & miss the first 2hrs of work. how inconvenient. i had a lot of things to do at work today, plus i had a benefits orientation to go to, but i had to miss it.

so the verdict of my dilemma. we're probably NOT gonna get my aid repaired 'cuz it's just NOT worth over $250 to get it fixed, & have a 6-month warranty on the repair. so, since i'm eligible for the government grant that pays for some of my hearing aid purchase, i'm getting a new aid. hopefully Canadian Tire has some sort of benefit that will have them pay for some of the aid as well. hearing aids aren't cheap & they normally last for about 4-5yrs. one of my first ones i had for 8yrs, which is like a record. even the audiologist was surprised it lasted that long.

so yeah..i'll have to do OT again in 2 weeks 'cuz that's when i go pick up my new aid. as for now, i'm using a loaner for 2 weeks.

ok bye now.
