More Sporting..
so Monday was my first official day of being the Inventory Controller at Boca Rattan. it's not fun, thus far. i sure hope that it will get better once things are set into place and whatnot.
so what is an Inventory Controller? what is it that i do?
well an Inventory Controller is exactly what it sounds like. i control and make sure that the inventory isn't messed up. if there's a problem, i'd be able to troubleshoot it and if there isn't an explanation for the missing pieces of the furniture, well, it's not my fault, but rather, the store manager's fault and they're liable to it!
why does it smell like bread?
anyway..so yeah, i have to set something up (from scratch) that will monitor inventory from 4 different locations. Mississauga, Scarborough, and 2 in Florida i believe (i'm not even sure myself). then i have to do one for Boca. and it has to be foolproof, in the sense that, it should be easy to follow, and tracking something down is easy.
right now i've opted to go with Microsoft Excel. i originally wanted to try Microsoft Access, but i got frustrated in learning it, despite all the help i received from Paul. thanks, but i think i'm gonna stick with something that i know. haha.. :P
so yeah, now at work, i'm trying to learn the process my mom does 'cuz she actually does the inventory manually and later i have to go to the Mississauga store to see how the store manager does his work and understand it.
so yeah, right now it's not much fun. but hey, on the flipside, i get a new laptop for work because so i can travel with it. yes, travel! i could get to go to Florida and to Indonesia and the Phillpines! sometime in the future tho haha..probably not this summer. :P but, OH YEAAAAAH! :P
so, i'd appreciate any ideas or suggestions for what kinda laptop to get!
ok let's talk about fun stuff! :)
Monday night, i went to the driving ranges in Oakville with Vince, Silas, and Joel. it was pretty fun. i suck at golf! lol, but Vince is really good. when he says that he's not good, he's just being extremely modest. he's so good! he whacks the ball effortlessly and it goes flying so far!
at the beginning, i couldn't hit crap. i was using i think a 5-iron. i hit like 1 out of 10 good. or something i was satisfied with. then i tried the driver. couldn't drive crap! so gave up on that. there wasn't enough room to try a Happy Gilmore. boo. then i tried the 9-iron. the driver is so much lighter than these iron clubs. so yeah, the 9-iron, started off slow, but then i just started to KNOCK 'em! i was so happy! i was admiring my shots! haha..but then towards the end, i started sucking again..booo..
tonight was roller hockey. we were suppose to play at the indoor arena at Mississauga Valley Community Centre. but apparently, the center double-booked the arena with us and a lacrosse league! how could they make such a big mistake like that? oh well, they were really nice about it though. the supervisor there was like, "i'm really sorry guys, we tried to get in contact with you. you'll get your money back and stuff, and you guys can feel free to come back after they're finished to play as long as you like." and this was coming from a guy that was like..freaking huge, like BUILT! like he could crack me like a nut!
so anyway, we decided to relocate to the Canadian Tire at Lakeshore and Southdown. Steve went home to grab his nets and we started to play at around 9.30pm. but man, those mosquitoes were killer when we were just standing around. we had 3 teams of 5-6 players. winner stays on. my team played our 1st 2 games really short. like, we got scored on rather quickly, but then after that, we were able to stand our ground the rest of the way. we scored the next 4-5 goals.
i also met my other softball captain tonight, Felix. now i know who he is! lol..he's a pretty good goalie too! so i'm not worry about his softball skills! lol..so yeah, i'm excited about the season! i wanna meet the rest of the team! :D
anyway, i should sleep soon. another work day tomorrow. and it's looking like a 'lax rest of the week.
