The Interview

as most of you know, i had my Easter Seals Canada interview today. thanks to everyone that left msgs on ICQ/MSN.

i think the interview went well, despite the fact that it was only 20mins long. they asked me some questions about what i thought when i saw the job online, so i told them. they asked what my past experiences would do to help with the job. so i answered that too. haha..ok, i answered every question they asked, i'm not gonna go into detail.

i had the chance to ask about the Access 2 Entertainment program they were running 'cuz that's the area i'd be helping in. it's a pretty cool program. it's for ppl with disabilities that need someone to assist them. it's in conjunction with like Cineplex, and Famous Players..most of the major theatres are involved with this program. what it does is that it allow for a free movie or discount for the assistant to the disabled. cool eh? :)

anyway, i got to the Easter Seal office at around 11.10am. i was 35mins early for my interview. haha..my interview was scheduled for 11.45am. the office was pretty small too. anyway, i really hope that the girl before me wasn't the 10.30am interview, 'cuz man, she was in there for 45mins then. :S that wouldn't be good for me since i was only in there for 20mins.

i was interviewed by 2 women who seemed pretty nice and all. and i saw that they had all my stuff (cover letter and resume) laid out on the table, all marked up and stuff. good i guess. :P i saw that they hilighted the portion in my cover letter about my hearing disability. :P

towards the end of the interview, they asked me to enter some sample information into their database. but before i could do that, one woman had to delete all the previous information that was in it before. i thought she was taking a while to delete the stuff, so i showed her a trick using the keyboard shift-tab function for the form. she was impressed. haha, she actually said, "Wow. That's pretty neat!" hahaha..that has to be a brownie point! another brownie point, i guess, is when they noticed that i was using the number pad on the right and remarked, "Haven't seen anyone use the number pad before while doing this stuff." haha..one of the women even pointed out that they didn't know how to use it very well 'cuz she'd always have to look at the pad.

i hope i get this job. i think it would be a good change, a welcomed change, and a great opportunity for me to learn outside of Mississauga. the only think i'd probably won't like is the 1+hr commute to work, and then another hr to come home. but a plus side would be that i could go to the subway with my sister.

speaking of the commute, yesterday i was kinda afraid that i would get lost 'cuz i've never taken the subway by myself before. whenever i would, i'd be following someone that knew how to get around using the TTC. but i learned today that the subway is so easy to navigate. haha, hope on the eastbound train from Kipling, and get off at Bloor-Yonge, and then take the northbound Yonge line up to Eglinton. simple. why was i so worried? :P

Easter Seals is located practically in the heart of the entertainment area of Yonge & Eglinton. it's just a block to the east of it. as i was walking along Eglinton, i was like, "Wow, there's so much stuff here." haha..

i also went to work for my dad today and i will be for the next 2 weeks, unless i get that job. i should've asked when it started..i forgot. :S but yeah, i'm just going to be filling in for worker that went of vacation for 2wks.

so i started at 8.15am, just like any normal day at work. the work just piles on during the day. i'm doing one thing, and then i'm asked to do another. it's like they pour all thise miscellaneous work on me that i'm not really learning about doing the accounts payable that i'm suppose to do, not that it's really exciting anyway. but anyway, i did do some minor accounts payable stuff, as well as entering orders into the database and printing them out once they were approved. i think i could've got a lot more done if the printer wasn't so slow.

i dunno, sure i need the money, but i don't really want to work for my dad's company. my mom told me that my dad was thinking of making me the Inventory Manager or something..i dunno..*shrugs*..i guess that's the back up if i don't get the job with Easter Seals.

well tonight, i finally finished watching all the Star Wars movies, with the exception of one, Revenge of the Sith, which i might see either tomorrow, or Thursday night. so yes, i saw Attack of the Clones tonight, and i noticed that Lucas overused the words "master,"young," "padawan," and "milady" a lot. and Hayden Christiansen's portrayal of Anakin was just brutal. his acting was so bad, it almost made Halle Berry's Storm look good. he almost sounds robotic in the movie, or is that suppose to be some foreshadowing of some sort? i dunno, i thought some of the lines in the movie were so dumb too. for instance, ""I've been dying a little bit each day since the day you came back into my life." oh gosh, *PUKE* Anakin better not act so gay in RotS and he better play evil really well! otherwise i should replace him! HEHEHE!! ok enough about Star Wars.

aw man, i have to work tomorrow.
