Wrestlemania 21
ahh..so where did i leave off last? Saturday i believe..*checks blog*..yup!
ok, so on Sunday i wake up at around 12pm-ish or maybe even later. i don't remember anymore. i was able to get another article somewhat done. Lawrence and my brother came up to Waterloo to watch Wrestlemania 21 at around 6pm.
so yeah, we headed out at 6.30pm for the sports bar. we first went to KickOff 'cuz that's where we went for the last 3yrs and it's normally packed. we get there this year and the place is completely empty. they weren't playing Wrestlemania. boo, so we left. then we went over to McGinnis Front Row. nope! Molly Blooms? nope! Philthy McNasty's? nope! so we finally went to downtown Kitchener in hopes of finding a bar that will feature Wrestlemania 21. the first bar we stopped at had a big sign..WRESTLEMANIA 21 APRIL 3rd! SCORE! the bar was called The Still. it was pretty packed, but we managed to get good seats infront of a projector. so it was a good view.
we got there a little late and the Eddie Guerrero/Rey Mysterio match was already underway. Mysterio won in the end, it was such a crappy ending tho, it wasn't a good match in my mind. kinda boring. not a good way to kick off the show!
next up was the money-in-the-bank ladder match between Jericho/Benoit/Benjamin/Kane/Edge/Christian. it was entertaining, but not the best ladder match i've seen. Edge came out on top, so now he has a chance for a title shot whenever he wanted.
following that was Orton/Undertaker match. Legend Killer vs. Legend. Undertaker put his 12-0 Wrestlemania record on the line. it was an exciting match actually, and 'Taker prevailed in the end. the end was exciting too. 'Taker was going for the chokeslam, but Orton was able to reverse it into an RKO. got a two count. then he went for a tombstone piledriver, but instead 'Taker reversed it into the tombstone piledriver and pinned him for three. so his record remains intacted. rumours has it that Orton injured his shoulder and that he'll be out for a while.
*edit - 9.03pm* yea i forgot one match. i can't believe i forgot to write about the best match of the night. thanks Pat for the reminder. i was really tired when i was writing this earlier. no sleep for 24hrs messes up your brain yo! anyway on with it.
Kurt Angle/Heartbreak Kid Shawn Michaels. this match started off slow, but it had an awesome ending with lots of 2-counts. just when you thought the match would be over, one would kick out or get out of the submission. it was exciting to watch. Kurt Angle's Angle Slam from the top rope. HBK's Sweet Chin Music. man..good match. HBK got out of the Ankle Lock like 2 times before he finally tapped out.
next match was for the Women's Championship i think. Trish Stratus vs. Christy Hemme. this match was garbabe. not exciting at all. Trish retains her title.
then it was the sumo match between real life sumo champ, Akebono vs the Big Show. it was a quick match with lots of slapping and too much ass. Akebono obviously won.
then came the WWE Championship match. this match was for the Smackdown brand and JBL comes out in his limo, and John Cena comes out with his stupid chaingang crap. well all knew who was gonna win after he lost his U.S. Title, and that is Cena. it was a crappy championship match. it was just like any other normal match. Cena doesn't even deserve the belt. he's like the worst wrestler ever, technically. good mic skills (altho it's getting annoying) but bad in-ring skills!
the main event was Triple H vs Batista for the World Heavyweight Chapionship. Trips took early offence, but Batista was able to mount a comback, so yeah in the end saw Batista give him a Batista bomb for a 3 count. new champ! Batista!
so yeah Wrestlemania didn't end until 11.30pm. i got home and worked on my readings for my take home exam due today. it's actually due at 1pm.
so Monday, Lawrence and Jay leave for home at about 1.30pm. i woke up when they left. then i went to classes, my last lectures of the term. they were ok. after my night class, i went to the SLC to finish my readings for my take home exam for Holocaust & Film 'cuz i knew i couldn't get any work down here in the house. i always get distracted.
so i finished reading that stuff at around 11.30pm, went home and made a snack before i started to write. i probably started to write at around 1am and finally finished at about 9.15am. yeah i didn't sleep. actually as i type this, i haven't slept yet. i've almost been up for 24hrs now and as i type this i'm slowly passing out. i'm full too 'cuz i just ate some Shanghai Noodles with beef for lunch. i think i over ate on that.
anyway, maybe i'll tell you of my dream another day..if i remember it. anyway, i'm out! GOOD MORNING! GOOD AFTERNOON! GOOD NIGHT! whatever!!
