Seekers (W2005): Playoff Finals: 6-0 W

so yes, we won the championship! however, it was for the lower bracket of the C-League, so it wasn't that great an accomplishment. we are the best of the worst! furthermore, we played our rivals, C-Cups, an all-girls team. but anyway, we won. :)

the game started off slow, but we were able to attack a lot. i think we would've won the game much earlier (since there's a 6-goal mercy rule) but their goalie kept them in the game by making a lot of big saves. my line alone generated numerous scoring chances, but weren't able to convert on a lot of them. there was one play where it was Adam and I on a 2-on-1 rush, he passed to me, then i passed it back to him, but he wasn't expecting it back, so we couldn't finish it, but if we did, it would've been a sweet goal. i had a lot of shots that game, and i couldn't buy a goal!! dah, anyway, i was able to assist on the 5th goal i think. it was good, i had it near the right face off dot, and i found Adam wide open infront of the net and he just chipped it in. it was a nice goal, nice play! ;P haha..

goals came from Steve, Gabe, Adam, Josh, and two from Jon. we were able to score the 6th goal late in the 3rd period, and we also had our 4-goal rush in the 3rd period. i think Dave got a little bored in between the pipes since he only faced 2 shots, which one was legitimate. so yeah, we won, and it was a relatively good game.

thanks all the CCF ppl that came out to support our games, and thanks to my SciBus friends that also came out to support me! :D

so after the game, i went to the last Relationship Cell Group meeting of the term. it was held at Betty's place and it was a pot luck/chilling/debriefing/reflecting type of meeting. we also watched the footage of the game. :D it was good times. that ended surprisingly at 1am. didn't even feel like 1am. that night for some reason i didn't sleep until 5am. i could see the sun coming up thru the blinds.

woke up on Friday at about...3.30-4pm-ish. yeah it was late. ate dinner, and then headed off to CCF at 7pm. i was a little late, but they hadn't started yet. it was sharing night, but i didn't share anything. it was mostly the grads that shared things about their last 5yrs in Waterloo. i found it funny that it seemed CCF wasn't a very friendly place for male newcomers, yet more friendly for female newcomers..interesting is it not? what's up with that? i just thought of this comment when i was listening to some of them share about how they came to CCF.

anyway, after CCF, we went to play some good old fashioned street hockey at the parking lot across the street from South Campus Hall at 11pm. only 3 players were on blades, and two of us eventually switched up to foot 'cuz it just sucked that we couldn't stop like the ppl on foot could. it was fun, lots of "pushing and shoving" for possession of the ball. haha..it was great. i'm guessing that ended at around 1.30-2am-ish.

then we headed over to Westcourt for some Bang! that game is so much fun! haha, there was one game where Alexis was the Sheriff, and the 3 Outlaws were seated directly to his left, all in a row. haha..it was me, Mike Mak, and Jeff Wong. on my first turn, i had the Panic card (take a card from his hand to keep), and 2 Cat Balou cards (take a card from his hand to discard). so i was able to take him down to 2 cards left in his hand. then i attacked him with a Bang card, and he couldn't defend so he was down to 4 life. then Mike Mak went and shot him, and then Jeff shot him. haha..the Deputies, Elliot and Mike (another Mike) couldn't help the Sheriff, and Ken was the Renegade. it was pretty funny, needless to say, that game ended pretty quickly. haha..that was the highlight of the night.

there was another game where i was the Sheriff, and my Deputies were seated right next to me on both sides, so i was well protected. right from the get-go i knew Mike Mak was a deputy, but i couldn't figure out if Jeff or Alexis (Alexis was my other deputy as it turned out) was my other Deputy until near the end. well, in the end, the Sheriff and both deputies were still alive. so we won! :D

didn't get home until 5am-ish. slept at 6am-ish 'cuz i was hungry and watched 2 episodes of Friends.

so today, woke up at 4pm again, and watched another 2 episodes of Friends. i'm now on to Season 6. what's happening now is that the gang is in Las Vegas 'cuz Joey's there working at Ceasar's Palace because his movie shut down. Monica and Chandler decided to get married, only to find that Rachel and Ross run out of the chapel totally drunk and married.

i gotta go make dinner now, and then get started on some readings for my take home exam due on Tuesday for Holocaust and Film!

2 more weeks until i'm out of here...for 4 months..
