Easter Weekend
*caution: post may be long-winded. you have been warned*
my daddio came to pick me up from Waterloo on Wednesday late afternoon 'cuz he was coming back from a meeting in London to go home to Mississauga. hahaha, that means i only spent 8 days in Waterloo in the past what..2 weeks?
anyway, so home on Wednesday night, had dinner, and just stayed in and chilled.
on Thursday i went out for lunch with Gen at A&W. we were gonna go shoe shopping for me too, but we didn't have enough time 'cuz she had an orthodontist appointment or something. but anyway, A&W have the best onion rings. i've mentioned that before, but i must mention it everytime i have it. :D anyway, we had a pretty good chat, mostly about and reflecting on softball and about what my options are for next year. went home, and worked on my resume a bit before dinner. after dinner, pretty much worked on my resume and cover letter for the rest of the night. my sister looked over it on Saturday and basically said that it was crap and half-assed. so i gotta work on it some more later in the week. *sigh*..went to bed at around 3am-ish that night.
wake up on Friday at 9.30am because Friday was a busybusy day! depart my house at 10.30am for the bank 'cuz i had like zero money in my wallet. left the bank at 10.30am and headed for Markham (i think) 'cuz i was meeting my friends for some dim sum at this restaurant called Century Palace Chinese Restaurant. it's near Metro Square, not in it!
haha..i arrived at 11.20am and proceeded to go to Metro Square 'cuz that's what the email said. so i looked all over for it. but i couldn't find it. i even walked all the way around the inside and outside of the mall looking for the restaurant. no avail. then i started to look for any one of my friends that could be arriving, or even their vehicles so i know that i'm at least at the right place. but i didn't find anyone. i finally went to the other building, New Centuryr Plaza, but i still couldn't find the restaurant. so i went back to Metro Square and waited around for maybe 5mins. then i finally asked someone at a convenience store, and he told me that it was in the other building. and i was like..what the heck..i looked in there! so i went back, and looked at the map (should've done that the FIRST TIME!) and i saw like this big huge block..so i was like..dah heck..so yeah, i finally found the place and my friends at 11.40am.
so yea..we had lunch..and finished up at around 1pm-ish. then we headed over to my friend Joanna's (Joey's) house to play some poker. this time, unlike SciGradBall night, we played for some real money albeit not much. we each put 25 cents into the pot. the winner walks away with a dollar, runner-up with 75 cents and third breaks even. the second game, we raised the stakes to 50 cents. i didn't know what the break up of the pot was because i didn't win. haha...i actually left early.
anyway, the first game was entertaining and fun. maybe 'cuz i won. haha..but anyway, the girls were playing well, especially Ada. she was able to take out Mike, Colin, and either Yvonne or Vivian. i was able to take out Joey and either Yvo or Viv. it was down to Ada and I in the end, and was able to beat her as well. it was a good game all around. the most surprising was that Mike was the first one out and he was the one with the most experience.
the 2nd game, i dunno, it was a blur really for me. Yvo and i lost at the same time 'cuz we both went all in, but lost. kinda worked out good for us 'cuz we had to leave anyway. so we left early. Yvo had to pick her brother up at York i think, while i had to head over to Melissa's place 'cuz i said i would drop by.
so i got to Mel's at around 5.30pm-ish. i wasn't able to make in time to play any games (i was really late) and Mel was the big winner of the day there. i got there in time to watch the "loser's" table finish out their game, which was won by Oliver. after that, we all headed over to Pho 99 on Mavis & Burnhamthorpe. it's so clean there.
after dinner, we all headed over to MCBC for the Good Friday Service. i would write Cantata, but seems like a lot of ppl don't know what that means. so anyway, it was pretty good, altho the msg was really long. i passed out near the end. i almost made it through the night. oh well, took several photos and videos of the service. my videos have no sound tho..boooo! and i can't post them up on Imagestation 'cuz they're AVI format and not MPEG.
when the service was over, which was close to 10.15pm, we just all mingled for a while. i had to find Rebecca 'cuz we were planning on seeing a movie, Be Cool, at either 10.35pm at AMC Courtney Park or 10.50pm at Coliseum Mississauga. we opted for the 10.50pm show 'cuz we didn't want to rush over to AMC. the movie was alright, showed most of the funny parts in the trailer tho, so that was disappointing, however, it was still an alright movie, but it's not worth paying to see really. wait for the rental if you haven't seen it already. but it was amusing to watch The Rock, Andre 3000, and Vince Vaughn. haha.."Twinkle, twinkle baby!"
so yeah, the night ended at 1.30am when i dropped off Rebecca. exhausted. went to bed at around 3-4am? i don't remember.
woke up at 9.30am again on Saturday 'cuz my family was going to the cemetary to give our annual respects to great grandma, great grandpa, grandma, and grandpa x2 in North York. afterwards, we went to Richmond Hill for lunch. we got home at around 2pm, and i just crashed until like 6pm. i got awoken because i had to get ready to go out for dinner at Summit Garden with my family. in the evening, i played poker (yeah, again) with my sister, Caralen, my brother, Jason, and his friend Matt. in the end it was Jay beating Caralen. went to bed at 2am.
woke up at 8.30am this time (man i only got to sleep in on Thursday) for church at 9.30am. after service, went to Tim Horton's like always and had pretty good chats, dominated by softball talks. ppl trying to get me to play, trying give me reasons to play. haha..it was amusing. but to honestly say, i think i may be leaning on coming back to MCBCSL for one more year at least. headed back to Waterloo at around 2pm and arrived at 3pm. passed out for most of the car ride.
so, what did i do since. unpacked the food. the freezer has like no room now thanks to me. haha..i'm a freezer hog 'cuz i suck at cooking. :P then i watched a couple episodes of Friends 'cuz the Internet wasn't working. after i got fed up, i went to investigate 'cuz everything was working normally. network plugs and cables were all good. then i walked around and followed the phonelines and i found that one of the jacks came out of the phonejacks. plugged it back and and hey, Internet started to work again! wow! then i surfed. and then i started to burn all these movies on to CDs 'cuz i wanted some more room. and then ate dinner while watching the 1968 version of The Planet of the Apes with Charlton Heston. after that, i uploaded pictures from Friday, go check 'em out! :)
what a waste of a night. honestly. i still gotta "kaizen" this paper and try to prepare for my "in-class assignment" for Contemporary Japanese Society on Tuesday night. but hey, after that Tuesday class, i have a playoff hockey game with Seekers at 11pm at CIF. be there! support us! maybe i'll have to work off some steam if that class isn't what i expect...or more likely, what i want! :P
oh well, a week and a half until lectures are over. and then finished exams on the 13th. time for the home stretch, until it all starts again in May.
