No Toronto Transit Commission

...because they are stupid & like to screw all the Toronto commuters over on one of the hottest days of the summer thus far. first smog alert was issued today & everyone was suppose to take an easy & not do anything strenuous. THANK YOU TTC for making us WALK or DRIVE (which makes the smog even worse). freaking selfish brats!

but then again, how are we suppose know that today would've been on of the hottest days of the summer thus far? we can't. but still the wildcat strike, aka ILLEGAL strike, that they imposed was stupid & needless. it was so out of the blue.

i kinda knew about the possibility of a strike last night when i got home from my softball game (more on that later). even mentioned it to Rebecca. speaking of Rebecca, i wonder how she got into work today?! hmm..i should ask her later. she had to be at work early today too. hmmmmmmmm...

so, yeah, had to leave earlier than normal today with my sister. took the QEW to Kipling, then to Bloor St. then we Bloor-ed it all the way up to Yonge where i got dropped off. then i WALKED from Yonge & Bloor to Yonge & Eglinton. that's a 40min walk. not as bad as some other ppl perhaps, but dang, it was HOT, even in the morning. so yeah, i got dropped off at Yonge & Bloor at 9am (when i'm suppose to start work).

got off work at 12.30pm 'cuz my sister wanted to leave early & beat the traffic. she was my only way of getting home. my plan was to see if the TTC had resolved their stupid problem before i left 'cuz if they did & subways were running, i would've stayed 'til the end of the work day like normal & bussed it from Islington, but nope. but hey, at least tomorrow the TTC will be running, thankfully. i didn't want to drive since my sister was gonna stay home if it wasn't resolved. *whew*

so as i was walking back from Canadian Tire to Yonge & Bloor...yeah, i walked there AND back. i saw the aftermath of a cycling accident. not sure what actually happened, but i know it involved a biker since the bike was like sprawled on the ground. ambulance were tending to the victim. for some reason, just see that kinda shook me a bit. almost moved me to tears, but not quite. so as i was walking, i prayed a quick prayer for the victim, for his health & well-being.

so yeah, i got home early, so that was cool i guess. but who knows, i could be paying for it later. i don't know if i'm gonna ask for Friday off anymore 'cuz i thought about it. but then this stupid strike happens & cuts one of my days short.

so that was just today's stuff.

back track to Friday night. went to play ice hockey for the first time since my last game in Waterloo. it was some pick up hockey with some of Steve's teammate's friends, & Mike came out as well, so at least i knew a few familiar faces (i knew 3 in total). played for 2hrs & i'm happy to announce that..I DIDN'T CRAMP UP! hahaah..those who know me, i have a history of cramping up when playing hockey for a very long period of time. it was good, but man, so out of shape. after like the first couple shifts, i felt like puking. but it got better as the night went on, at least that's good!

Saturday afternoon, H2O had our last practice before our first game on Sunday night. it was a long & humid practice, but it was pretty good i suppose. went to Mac's afterwards for some slushies! yum, slushies. i want a slushie.

Saturday evening, i went over to Andre's place for hot pot #7. this time it was for Jeff's send off since he's leaving for Japan in a couple days for missions. hope he learns lots, teaches lots, & has fun all at the same time. it's 3 months, don't do anything illegal JEFF! :P

yeah, so hot pot was pretty fun, ate until i couldn't eat anymore, watched a bit of the customary Family Guy (hot pot isn't hot pot at Andre's without Family Guy, it's a tradition man!). we also watched the 1st period of the Oilers/Ducks Game 5. GO OILERS! then we played some NHL '06 free for all. i suck at that game. i'm better at NHL '03.

then i got a phone call from a distraught friend, but i couldn't hear the other end very well 'cuz of all the static in my hearing aid. so i had to call my friend back when i got home on the landline so i could hear better. but that was a worrisome hour. i'm praying for you my friend, you are always in my prayers.

Sunday morning was church of course, home for lunch, nap in the afternoon. it was much needed since i needed some rest for the game. our first CCSA game.

left for Toronto (Parkway Forest Park) at 4.15pm. had to drop by Bubble Republic to pick up Mindy, & we were off. good thing we left a little early 'cuz we got lost on the way. only because we didn't know that the 401 Express transfer to the 404 would force us to pass our Sheppard exit. so we had to get off at the next exit after (i forget which street). then we turned the wrong way. haha, but we still ended up the first ones there.

the game itself was good. it was fun. maybe winning had a little bit to do with the fun factor since we did win 18-3. we played against a team called Creed. they were very diverse age-wise, with a few parent players & some young'uns, as young as grade 9. mm, not gonna get into the details of the game too much..mostly because i don't remember much of it hahaha..

after the game, the umps had to check out bats to make sure they were legal. they were saying that my yellow Blur bat MIGHT be illegal. :S but, yeah, Silas, Joel, & Vince assured that it wasn't illegal & that they checked the list before purchasing the bat. that would suck if my bat was illegal.

we went out as a team for dinner at Pickle Barrel after devotions (minus Denise, Kary, & Joe). the game ended at 8.30pm & i thought that was early, but now that i thought about it, it wasn't that early. it just seemed early 'cuz it was still pretty bright out. but anyway, so Pickle Barrel wasn't too bad. it was a good time of conversations & lots of laughs.

after dinner, we dropped by Victor's place since Rebecca needed to drop off a bat for him & to check up on him since he had an accident over the weekend with a softball. it was reminiscent of Rebecca's softball accident, but Victor's was on a much lower scale.

so we finally headed back to Mississauga, after dropping off Mindy & Rebecca at their respective homes, Jay & i got home at around 11.30pm. it was a long long day. everyone passed out in the car on the ride home & didn't wake up until i woke 'em up infront of their houses. haha...either they were really tired, or i was just that damn good a driver! :P hahahaha...

so..that was that. i'm physically exhausted. time for some R & R! rest & relaxation!
