It Just Ain't Happening
Happy Birthday Jay! (Sept 29)
Happy Birthday Rose! (Oct 2)
Happy Birthday Vince! (Oct 3)
dang! it's October already! :S
yup, i am definately not in study mode yet. no motivation whatsoever. zero. none. nil. nada. looks like i'll have to make tomorrow a REALLY productive day. that is, read all 3 chapters in my Psychology of Education textbook that is required for test 1 on Tuesday afternoon. plus review the lecture notes. on top of that, i need to read Psychology of Adolescence readings to prepare for the first of two in-class assignments on Tuesday night. however, i'm not THAT worried over that 'cuz it's only worth 5%. however, i'm not overly worried about PoE either. how odd. i'm rather, calm about not having done any of the readings for that class. yet, i'm sure a lot of ppl would stress over it. i'm just me.
now, as i write, it's 2.35am. i'm just totally not into reading my textbook, i'll call it a night. a day, a weekend, a week. but, i think i'll at least finish the first chapter, at least i hope i will, before i sleep tonight. it's a goal i'll set for myself tonight. i guess i'll let you know how i fare in my next post. :P
so yeah, the weekend has come and gone. i last updated on Wednesday before Mass Media Communication class. well, i'll tell you this. i went to MMC class. sat down. tried to focus on the class and the material being covered. but the prof just keeps talking and talking, i don't even know what kind of notes i should be taking. there's no structure in that class. at least not to me anyway. i ended up starting to doze off into my dream world, not daydreaming, but rather, shut eye dreaming. so i was itching for break to come. so it comes. i pack up my books and stuff, and leave. i head over to the nearest computer lab (or at least known to me), sit down, log into the system, log on to Quest, and..DROPPED. i couldn't take it anymore. so Mass Media Communication, i bid thee farewell.
dropping MMC isn't entirely a bad move anyway. it frees up my Wednesday nights now. so that means Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays off. please don't hate me for having this schedule. i blame UWaterloo Arts Faculty for scheduling most of their classes on Tuesdays and Thursdays. having 4 day weekend and a break inbetween isn't all it's cut out to be. it makes me even more lazy. makes me stay up later. in all those factor into me getting screwed over because i'll sleep too much, feel too tired, and feel that i have more than enough time. prime example would be now. i'll be feeling the crunch tomorrow for sure. oh well, i'll deal. but yeah, another reason is that i already had 5 courses this term, and if i kept it, i would only have to take 2 next term, so by dropping MMC, i can take 3 next term and be a full-time student.
on Thursday night, i began to play X-Men Legends II: Rise of Apocalypse, after watching my own "must see tv" shows comprised of: CSI and ER. both good episodes. :) yeah, so i started playing X-Men at just after 11pm. i think Betty joined in and watched after midnight. she became my navigator 'cuz she liked to watch instead of play, so she helped me navigate around until about 5.30am. yeah, we were both up and playing. we didn't feel like sleeping. i told her that i was surprised that she was still awake 'cuz she's normally an early sleeper. hahaha but she didn't have class on Friday, so she was able to stay up. lol. she was even shocked herself that she was awake at that hour.
all in all, X-Men Legends II is a pretty good game. it's pretty similar to the first Legends game though, but you get to use a lot of new cool characters like Sunfire, Bishop, and Juggernaut. however, the loading screen pictures suck ass. the art in the first Legends game is way hotter. lol.
Friday, there was hockey practice from 4-6pm. that was pretty much the highlight of the day. unless you call going to St. Jerome's library to do some photocopying of some articles i need for PoA's in-class assignment, a highlight, by all means do so.
the hockey practice itself was a pretty good workout. i will always hate the drills. i will always want to just scrimmage. :P i played for both teams when we did scrimmage 'cuz one team would be short, and then the other team would lose two players and then i'd have to join them, so yeah. i think when i switched, it messed some ppl up. kinda funny. :P
oh yeah, also on Friday night, i skipped CCF to do some studying that never got done. but after CCF, i went over to Sam Ng's place and played a game called Settlers. i've never played the game before, so obviously, i lost the first game 'cuz i was learning how to play the game. i finished with only 2 points. you need 10 to win. the 2nd game though, i won with 11 points. but i give some credit to Sam for helping me out ('cuz he didn't play after the first game and let someone else new play). he also helped out Lorna 'cuz she was a newbie too. not a bad game i must say.
so on Saturday morning, we had hockey practice at 8am. another 2hr practice, from 8-10am. i woke up at 7am after going to bed at 5am. don't ask why. i just did that for no reason. so yeah, not many ppl showed up 'cuz some went to CCF Fall Retreat, and some just slept-in. didn't really work on much, but i did take a shot off my hamstring during practice. it's like the only place on my leg that isn't protected and i had to get hit there. booo!! it's just a bruise though, so it's nothing major, but still, it hurt man!
i was suppose to go home with William on Saturday morning, but he was leaving at 8am. i was gonna go with him, but then Emily offered to drive me home after pratice since she was heading down to Toronto anyway with Joseph and Noella for Project Contempo and dropping off Connie to North York. so yeah, that was cool. i obviously passed out on the ride home. no surprise there!
so yeah, after i got home, it was pretty busy. went grocery shopping with my mom, then went to the Honda dealership with my sisters and dad, and then my oldest sister's 28th birthday dinner at Canyon Creek. man, not only is their filet mignon good, their peppercorn new york steak was also delicious! our waitress was cute too. haha. but dang, after that, i felt so fat. didn't help that my siblings were telling me that i'm fat too.
vegged for the rest of the night. i wanted to study, but i convinced myself that if i started to read, i'd fall asleep. so there would be no point in starting to study. haha, it's so easy to convince myself to not study. so yeah, i just sat infront of the tv all night..and infront of the laptop too. watched an old episode of Smallville and then The Princess Bride. such a good classic. haahaha..
i have a penchant for going to sleep late. 'cuz i went to bed Saturday night/Sunday morning at 3am. as a result, combining with the 2hrs i got the day before, i didn't wake up for church on time. i woke up at 10.30am, and service was pretty much done. i still went to church though and made it there before everyone went to lunch. decided on Pho99 at Hurontario and Eglinton. after that i had 2hrs to kill before the hockey pool draft at MCBC and had no one to kill it with, so i went to Square One for an hr and a half.
lalalala..went into a bunch of stores. nothing interesting to report except the cute dogs that were play fighting. one of the Jack Russell terriers were so cute though. pretending to be all innocent, but being very vicious when another dog attacks him. haha he'd go all cujo on it..baring teeth and everything. it was cute.
so yeah, finally, back at MCBC for the hockey pool draft. everyone made it except for Shawn. the draft order was determined by picking a number out of a bag. order of draft was Ben, Arthur, myself, Alex, Anthony, Shawn, Jon Tang, Alan, Phil, Mel, Joe, and Andre. i thought i did a pretty good job with my picks and hopefully my team performs this year. and no stupid trades, like Modano for Hejduk (i had Hejduk). still can't believe i did that trade. what was i thinking?! lol..
so yeah, this year, i have 3 different hockey pool teams, and they have been drafted within the week. so here are my drafted teams, and moves made in parantheses (that means, i don't have the player i drafted anymore and the player in parantheses is the player i have on my roster now).
MCBC pool (drafted 3rd): Naslund, Hejduk, Lidstrom, Datsyuk, Luongo, Ovechkin, Kim Johnsson, Rafalski, Theodore, Bochenski, Lindros, Avery, Anson Carter
UWCCF pool (drafted 8th): Turco, Naslund, Elias (traded for Crosby), Guerin, Sullivan, Smyth, Legace, Chara, Zidlicky, Gaborik, Morrison, Gomez, Kvasha, Timonen, Stillman, Cheechoo, Drury, Vasicek (dropped for Simon)
WCRI pool (drafted 1st): Iginla, Sakic, Hejduk, Nabokov, Recchi, Lang, McCabe, Ribeiro (dropped for Zetterberg), Schneider, Hill, Kalinin (dropped for Jovanovski), Legace, Satan, Marleau, Kvasha (dropped for Theodore)
these pools oughta keep my occupied for a long while! lol..dang. i hope my studies don't suffer.
ok it's taken way too long for me to update this blog. screw reading that one chapter tonight. i need some shut eye.
here's a random thought...i like to pick my nose. heheheeeee!
