Distractions

i'm finding myself starting to blog less and less nowaday. don't really have a reason why either. probably because nothing interesting happens here in Waterloo. i don't even really remember what has happened since i last posted. all seems to be a blur to me. but nonethess i guess i have some things that are on my mind. some important, others are really not important! haha..you'll see why.

so first thing's first. the important stuff.

so on Wednesday i had my appointment with my academic advisor and i received some great news! she told me that if i keep all 5 of my courses this term, i'll only have to take 2 courses next term to graduate! how exciting is that? so i started to run some scenarios in my mind. should keep the 5 courses this term? or should i drop one and take another course next term. because if i only take 2 courses next term, that means i'm only a part-time student and i rather be a full-time student. so now i'm stuck in a dilemma. if i drop a course, what course should i drop? the two classes that i'm not really finding interesting right now are Sociology of Education and Mass Media Communication.

so now, the other problem is..which class?

for SoE, the reasons i would drop it would be the fact that it isn't drawing my interest so far. we watched a really boring video today about feminist panadoxy or whatever..i was spending most of the film trying to decipher what they were actually saying in that 2nd word. anyway, they kept on using the word over and over again it started to annoy me. but anyway, yeah, this class isn't drawing me in. it actually tires me out for the rest of my classes AND it's my first class of the day. added to that is the fact that i haven't bought the textbooks for this course yet either.

however, reasons for keeping the class, my housemate, Lorna, is also taking that class and we planned in the summer to take it together too. also, this class doesn't have very much work. all i have to do for this class is a fact sheet, a brief research paper, and a final. that's it.

now for MMC, the reasons to drop it. well, it's a night class on Wednesday nights and if i drop it, it'll free up Wednesday (meaning i'll have no classes on MWFs hehehe!!). also, last class, i got in trouble with Anna and Grace for being disruptive to the class. hahaha..whoops, i didn't know that. the prof came up to us during break, so yeah, he was nice about it though. but anyway, there's a big research paper that we have to write for this class and i'm not really up for it 'cuz it seems so uncertain with how we're suppose to collect data from watching 10hrs of television. so yeah, that's another reason to drop it.

reasons to keep it. well i have friends in that class too. the prof seems to be pretty nice. i already bought the textbook for it from the Used Bookstore.

so..which class should i drop? i have until September 30th to decide! HELP!

so now on to the unimportant stuff. haha..

so Thursday is my 2nd longest day (Tuesday being my longest 'cuz i have a night class). woke up at 10.30am for my 11.30am class, Sociology of Education. it was so boring. we watched a 10yr old film. i already explained this above, so let's fwd now shall we?

i came home after the morning class to have lunch. watched some of The Longest Yard before headed back to campus for Psychology of Education class. i don't even remember much of what we covered in that class. the day today has mostly been a blur to me. i know that we finished half hr early, again. not that i'm complaining. :P Intro to Human Sexuality was next, and we did a survey questionnaire in the class about our..um..personal lives. :P it was anonymous of course. don't remember much from that lecture either except that it felt really short.

so i came home again. and watched a bit of The Longest Yard again (from where i left off last of course) just to kill time before meeting up with some of the MCBC ppl here in Waterloo for dinner. we were to meet at 7pm infront of East Side Mario's. so yeah, we were gonna eat at East Side Mario's but they were all booked up. since William and Ambrose had cars, we decided to try Rude Native. got there and they told us that it would be an hr wait. mm..we said screw that (not literally) and went across the train tracks to Lucy's Seafood Restaurant. almost half empty. good news for us. :P never new that Thursdays would be so busy! but then again, it was dinner time when we went. so anyway, i ordered the Angus Beef Asian Stir Fry. i think the last time we were at Lucy's i had the Halibut Fish & Chips. anyway, that was a bit of nothingness that you didn't need to know. but anyway, the dinner was good food, and the fellowship was pretty good too. :) i still remember W2005 term when we went to Lucy's. when we were finished, we found Simon's car toilet-papered! haha

after coming back, i gave Sharon a call 'cuz we were suppose to have volleyball practice for our intramural team. so yeah, i called her to see if they were still playing. she didn't pick up, so i assumed that they were still playing, so i got ready and left for the PAC. indeed they were still playing. they started at 8pm, and we played until 11pm when the PAC closes. so yeah, it was good. :)

came back took a shower, and then dropped by Joyce's place just to chat and see how she's doing. i met her adopted pet chinchilla, Bo. he's kinda shy. they have a huge puzzle there, between about 2000-5000 pieces i think, so her, Joanie (spelling? and roommate), and i were working away at it a little while chatting about what's been up in life and school. Joyce's gonna check out my eyes haha..she's an optometry student for those who don't know! :P

then i came back home a 3rd time haha, and finished off The Longest Yard, and then also watched Bourne Identity. yeah, i should really be reading rather than watching movies, but, meh!

busy weekend coming up too. kinda packed. tomorrow, sleep-in hehe...and then CCF in the evening. maybe i'll even drop by the Feds Dental Plan office in the afternoon to opt out of it. it's a waste of money anyway 'cuz i got my teeth checked before i even go the package in the summer. retarded. but anyway, yeah.. who know's what's happening after CCF. Bang!? roller hockey at South Campus Hall parking lot? we'll find out tomorrow i guess!

Saturday, i might drop by DC Fishbowl 'cuz Joyce is running this Optometry Forum or something. i forget what the term was, but it's something like that. so yeah, i might drop by for that. oh and there's a potluck dinner at Westcourt. almost forgot about that!

Sunday was gonna be a busy sports day, but then i found out the real schedule. someone told me that we had a hockey game at 2pm, but that's not the case, the game is at 4pm instead. so that means that i can't play in the CCF intramural basketball game 'cuz that's at 4.30pm. so yeah, hockey is priority over bball for me. we also have a freaking crazy 7am practice for hockey! gonna be so tired! good thing i don't have classes on Mondays! :D would've been interesting though to have a day with 7am hockey practice, church, hockey game at 2pm, and then bball game at 4pm. that would've been crazy!

anyway, an aside from everything else. this would be more of a rant more than anything. kinda annoys me too. anyway, yeah, you know how some ppl wear those low-riders or hip-hugger jeans or pants? y'know what i'm talkin about? that's the best i can really explain them, but anyway, if you know what i'm talking about, great. if not, well, too bad. so yeah, anyway, the beef is. if you're gonna wear low-riders or hip-huggers, please wear them properly. properly being, don't let the world see your underwear. it's unattractive. gosh, i saw 3 incidences today, and it's not like i'm checking out girls' butts ok, but it's kinda hard to just look away when their ass is right in your face when they're about to sit down infront of you..or in one case, riding a bike..oh gosh.

ok, it's late, and i ended off on a hideous note. i hope i don't wake up to nightmares. bah..
