One Week Down...
...11 to go.
i don't really have much to update about, but i guess i'll talk anyway.
it's about 4am, and i just got home from a pretty "long" day. it actually started for me at around 1.30pm, when i woke up. yes, 'tis sweet to have no classes on Fridays. :P
was set to meet up with Dave & Elliot at the MC Loading Dock at 3.30pm, which did happen. Simon & Calla tagged along with us to Sportchek at Conestoga Mall. just before i left to go meet up though, the power just all of a sudden went out while i was talking to Silas online (that's why i suddenly went offline).
so yeah, got Gabe and my skates sharpened at Sportchek, while everyone else was just looking at hockey equipment, whether they were skates, pads, or sticks. while we were there, we were dealt a blow. hockey practice on Saturday was cancelled. why? 'cuz apparently there was an ammonia fume leak at the CIF. wth? so that kinda sucked! boo! so no hockey for at least another week. so many of us were looking forward to getting back on the ice too! i'm itching to play!
so yeah, after Sportchek, we were gonna go check out National Sport and Canadian Tire, but when we got there, we noticed that they were pretty much closed too 'cuz they had no power! that's strange. i later learned that some car apparently had an accident with a power supply/box thingie and it just took out power for like a couple blocks or something. well, at least that's what i heard.
so we went to some store, the Sports Zone or something out on Weber St. i think. anyway, they had a lot of stuff in there, mostly hockey stuff, but it was really messy and unorganized. i wasn't too impressed with the atmosphere. we didn't end up getting anything and left for McDonald's for dinner.
came home, and watched an episode of Initial D that i downloaded last night. i was also introduced earlier to a series called Bleach. the first episode was pretty interesting, so i guess i'll start downloading episodes of this series too. just so i have something to watch while i'm eating lunch or dinner or whatever.
CCF was at 7pm. went with Adam, kinda talked a bit of hockey on the way there. it was opening day, so that meant, going around to different rooms and hearing about the cell groups that were being offered for the term. i decided this year that i wasn't gonna join any cell groups. for some reason, i just don't feel like committing to anything this term. however, i did sign up for basketball, and was gonna sign up for volleyball too, but i couldn't 'cuz i was already on a team with Sharon's friends. so that was CCF.
helped Betty bring her keyboard back to our place. it's large and moderately heavy, but i could handle it. luckily we had a car to help us, so that was good. then headed over to BubbleTease for a late night snack with some CCFers.
played a prank on Vanessa. pretended i drew something on her face with a sharpie, but i didn't use the right end. haha, it was funny 'cuz Mike and Jeff Tong were in on it too, pretending that i did mark her face. lol..then she tried to rub it off and stuff, but we were like you just made it worse and all. haha..it was pretty funny. MOLEY MOLEY MOLEY! :P ah she got me back by calling me "retard retard retard" haha..
anyway, so we headed over to Westcourt after all that commotion and played some Bang! haha, it's always fun to play 'cuz everyone is always ganging up on the same ppl regardless. ppl just make weird random comments and stuff, like Mike Mak and Ken. haha..fun night, we played about 5 games before we called it quits.
and here i am now.
as for academics, the first week went by pretty slowly i think. Tuesday to Thursday. it felt pretty slow. but yeah. this term i'm taking Sociology of Education, Educational Psychology, Introduction to Human Sexuality, Psychology of Adolescence, and lastly, Mass Media Communication.
i was gonna drop MMC, but after looking at the course syllabus, it doesn't look like too much work except for one assignment that i think will be difficult. but hey, it requires me to watch 10hrs of tv programming, so that's all good. but yeah, all in all, i have mostly tests this term, which isn't all too bad, and i don't have much on the same day, which is a blessing. everything is pretty much scattered, and the assignments aren't too bad, maybe just 2 papers that i really need to write (if i remember correctly).
Sociology of Education is ok so far, but i can see it being pretty boring. i have to do a fact sheet and a brief research paper for that course, and then there's a final for it. so not too bad. the prof is alright, but i can see her being pretty boring on some days. not really a great start to the day (it's my first class on Tuesdays & Thursdays).
Educational Psychology, i can say the same for. but no final, and 4 term tests for the whole term. doesn't seem too bad so far i guess. i have this prof twice this term, she's also my Psych of Adolescence prof. speaking of that class, i don't think it should be too bad either. we have 2 in class tests (i think) 2 in-class assignments (hopefully they won't be too bad) and a final.
Mass Media Communication isn't too bad either so far (well i've only had one class). the prof also has a condition that he could end up in the hospital unexpectedly, so sometimes lectures would be cancelled but we'd obviously would still be responsible for the chapters we had to read for that week. assignments for the class, well there's one major research paper, and then a midterm and final. so it's not too much work.
so yeah, i've decided to take 5 courses this term. for the first time since 2nd year. it's a gamble, but i really think i can handle it. at least i hope i can. it'll be my personal challenge for this term, and then when and if i overcome it, i can relax with a chillin' Winter term (no pun intended haha) with just 3 courses. how sweet would that be? :P
anyway, i think that's all i have to say for tonight. damn it's 5.10am. i should sleep huh?

1 Web Spinners:
Good luck with the 5 courses. And yeah, having only 3 courses would be wicked!
