Whirlwind Part 2 of 4
so yes..after this post, there are 2 more coming! lots to write, lots to share, even if you don't care.
this post is about MCBCSL Tournament 2005 and MCBCSL Banquet 2005.
the following will be Orlando Business Trip, and my weekend afterwards, respectively.

MCBCSL Tournament 2005
August 27, 2005
tournament started for us, Saved By The Bell (SBTB), at 11.10am at the regular game diamond against Yellow Submarines. we were able to squeak out a 3-run win over them i think. so that was a good start to the tournament.
the next game was against Cworkz right after the YS game. to be honest, i thought we were losing the whole game, so i was surprised when Alex told us we won the game.
after that game, no more games were being played at the game diamond, so we headed over to the tournament double diamonds, but first my bro and i stopped off at McDonald's so i could grab something to eat. i just order a medium fries 'cuz i didn't want to overeat and be heavy for the tournament. McDonald's doesn't exactly make you feel too good if you're active right after eating it. :P
so yeah, we were able to finish off the round robin portion of the tournament at 3-0 (bye-win-win), so i'm pretty sure we were seeded 1st for the playoffs. there we met Sparks in the quarter-final game.
the game against Sparks was pretty exciting. my team went neck and neck with Tang's team again. we were home team, and they'd score in the top half, and then we'd answer right back. we finally broke it open with one good inning and held off their comeback to win by 1-run. although, i dunno if we really deserved to win that game 'cuz there was a lot of confusion during one play and it cost Sparks 2 runs. :S
so in one of the other quarter-final games, Yellow Submarines were able to defeat Cworkz to earn a berth in the semi-finals. so yeah, we had another game against Yellow Subs. it was a really close contest, we went into extra innings to decide the game. the Subs were a different team from the one that we played in the round robin. they played much better. it was an intense game, but we just couldn't shut them down, made to many errors in the bottom half of the inning.
so yeah, the Subs went on to become the MCBCSL 2005 Champions by defeating Antz in a really close game. not sure what the score was though. but yeah, congratulations Yellow Submarines!
after the tournament, i drove Rebecca home, and then went back to my place so that Jay and I could shower before going over to Kev/Jeff's place for a post-tournament last team outing. Jeff was with us as well 'cuz he wanted to watch the championship game and Kev went home to prepare for the team outing.
we were suppose to have the outing at my place, but there was something wrong with the sewage pipes in our basement, so it started to overflow a bit and it stunk up the whole basement pretty bad. Jay had to sleep on the main floor that night 'cuz of that.
so yeah, the outing at Kev/Jeff's place was pretty fun. we ate and just chatted about various things, and then shifted over to playing Cranium. i don't really understand that game, so i just played what i could. haha, there was a lot of laughs during that game
one was Kevin's charade for private detective. we couldn't guess it on time, but yeah, we got the detective part, but we couldn't get the private part. after time was up, i was like..hey, you should've just did this *place both hands down at the "privates"* hahahaha..dirty a bit? yes, but it was funny. :P
another was when it seemed that Mindy and i were reading each other's minds when we had to do our charades. i had to do Barbara Walters, so i tried to impersonate her, and she got it on the 2nd guess. she did hot pants, which was pretty easy i thought.
a third moment was when Bonnie commented on Felix's drawing, "You could draw with your eyes open y'know.." Felix was like, "My eyes were open". haha everyone just cracked up..hahaha..while Bonnie was like.."oh my gosh, i'm sorry! i didn't mean it that way!" hahaha..it was so funny!
after Cranium, we played White Magic. i'm not gonna explain it here 'cuz normally this game we play until someone gets how the game is played. but yeah, i asked Trevor, "Do you know how to play?" and he just snaps back with "NO, i'm a GUY!" hahaha..everyone just went nuts laughing, hahaa..so funny. omg. easily the best line of the night. lol!
when everyone figured out White Magic, we played Mafia (which is kinda like Murder, if not the exact same thing). Betty was the narrator. Felix and Eleasa were the mafia (murderer), Rina was the detective (cop/sheriff) and i was the healer (doctor). Jeff got killed off first, so we thought Kev killed him. so we killed him off. then Jay, voted off Felix, Jeff, voted off Nina i think. then Eleasa came back from her phone call, and then Rina got killed, and i got voted off, then In-Ting accused Trevor, but Trevor and Eleasa were like, In-Ting, so he got voted off. it was hard to guess Eleasa 'cuz she was off on a phone call for most of the game, so Felix was the one killing everyone and no one could really accuse Eleasa for being a mafia 'cuz she wasn't even there. haha i kept healing myself haha..selfish bastard! :P
we called it a night after the game, so yeah, it was a good way to end off the day. had quite some laughs there.
MCBCSL Banquet 2005

banquet was at Banquet Royale again. it's a pretty good place. the food is decent, and it's spacious.
i'm not gonna bother writing down all the winners of awards and stuff 'cuz i don't remember everything, and there are pictures of all the winners up on Imagestation. check it out if you have the chance.
however, i will say that our team didn't go home empty-handed in the awards. In-Ting won the Iceman Award, which is for sliding. i was able to win the Doctor Ocptopus Award for best defensive player for a 2nd time in a row. :D thanks to everyone who voted for me! and Eleasa took took home an engraved medal for being our team's Most Appreciated Player (MAP). congratulations to all winners around the league! :)
this year banquet didn't run as smoothly as it has in the past, but it was still successful, it was still enjoyable. Matthias was mainly the emcee for the night and cracked some jokes and stuff. Alan shared his testimonial about being in the softball league for about 16years and how it has helped him in his walk with God. his testimony really inspired me and got me thinking about playing in MCBCSL for more years to come in the future (that is if CCSA doesn't happen). the year-end picture slide was good, although i think there were some resolution issues, nonetheless, we saw most of the pictures anyway and filled in the blanks. i thought Cworkz had a lot of pictures in the slide though. they're trigger happy i guess. :P the food was aight. nothing special!
after everything was over, pictures pictures pictures! flashbulbs EVERYWHERE. although, i think this year i wasn't really all smiled out. i remember last year, my face hurt afterwards from all the pictures and stuff. i guess i didn't take that many pictures this year with ppl this year! :P however, i did go trigger happy and took 191 pictures. all up on Imagestation as of now. :P
so yeah, the night ended at around 12am, and i didn't get home until about 12.30am.
now on to Whirlwind Part 3!
