Happy Birthday Esther! (Aug 20)
so not many ppl participated in the poll i tried. what a failure. however, Silas told me he preferred me in my long hair, as did one of my co-workers. my whole family obviously prefer me in my short hair 'cuz they can't STAND my long hair. one of my sisters would constantly say that it's so ugly and has no style. and then when i do "style" it, she still says it's ugly. but whatever. some other have told me, but i don't remember what they said. one said my hair would look better if i had a bike. :S freak. :P
so yeah, i had to cut my hair to prepare for my trip to Orlando from August 29 - September 1. i have to look "professional" so my dad says. i didn't think hair would be a factor in it that much. so do all guys with long hair in the workforce unprofessional looking? or is it because i couldn't "pull it off"? that i don't know the answer to.
so anyway, Thursday night i went to watch the 3rd round night session of the Rogers Cup at Rexall Centre on York University's campus with Sylvia. free tickets! woo! they were worth $80 i think, what a deal. the seats were pretty good too, a nice view. the match we saw in its entirety was the Justine Henin-Hardenne (who is facing Kim Clijsters in the finals) vs Jie Zheng match. pretty good match, very well played by both women, but in the end, Henin-Hardenne prevailed. when we got tickets, the one player i wanted to watch play was Henin-Hardenne 'cuz she's such a good player, AND she is so cute! haha..but anyway, her serves were topping 180km/hr, which is wicked fast, and her backhands are so beautiful. damn, i wish i could play like her. haha..
after that match, there was a 45min break between that match and the doubles match that was next. Martina Navratilova was playing in that match. we watched like 3 games until it just started to rain. haha when we felt drops, both Syv and i thought, "oh crap, a bird better not have pooped on me!" hahaha..it was funny. but anyway, so we left.
drove her home, and she gave me a tour of her new abode. haha Syv's mom told me that their house compared to mine was this small *shows me a small circle*. haha, i was so confused 'cuz i didn't know how she knew what my house looked like, but Syv told her haha..but anyway, so Syv gave me a tour, and her place looks really nice! very..bright! haha.. :) all in all, i spent a wonderful evening with a very cool friend, whom i adore. :) thanks Syv! :D
on to Friday. Friday, i went to the Mississauga Store to do some of the US stuff, prepping for the trip to Orlando. i think it's gonna take me another two days to set everything up at the head office. so yeah, i was only there for about 2hrs since i was waiting for the chain manager to come back from the Scarborough Store. it went by pretty fast, although i took a quick 5min nap in the office 'cuz i was so freaking tired. :S
so when i got home, i realized that i forgot my pouch at the store, so that kinda ruined my pre-JOY Fellowship plans, so i just went to get it before fellowship and stopped by the bank too 'cuz i had zero dollars in my wallet.
fellowship on Friday was watching the children's musical "We Like Sheep". the kids from MCBC's Moochee Boochee Kids Camp participated in the play. haha there were several funny moments in the play. one of the kids forgot their lines, poor kid, and she was oblivious to that fact. i'm glad they were able to get past that and move on. very prepared! :) and then there was another incident where a kid just finished his solo, and then the mic fell off the stand. hahaha..should've saw the look on the kid's face. and then at the end, the whole Gilbert thing, i shouldn't even mention that! but it was HILARIOUS! haha..
anyway, after the play was over, Howard gave his testimony, and then there was a really really long picture slide from the Moochee Boochee Camp, and then some announcements, and that was it. then we moved over to the gym just to mingle and stuff briefly.
went to see The 40 Year Old Virgin with Rebecca Friday night too. omg, it was so funny! haha..i recommend this movie to EVERYONE! hahaha, i was laughing so hard at one point that i was tearing up. hahahahaaha...i'm SO buying the dvd when it comes out. :P
Saturday. early start to the day as captain Kevin came to pick me up at 10am for the 10.30am practice our team was having at the game diamond. so yeah, i think that went well. the team then went out for lunch and i had to stay back and fix up and set up the diamond for the 12.30pm game between Swiffer and Ring of Fire with Tang since we had to ump it. we had to delay the game by about 30mins because of the field conditions.
next was Saved by the Bell against Sparks..uh, we lost. :( got killed by a foreign import! hahaha :P but i hit a homerun. :D hahaha..it's all good! :P we might actually lose our 1st seed now for the tournament next week. it all depends on whether or not Cworkz beats Konoha on Sunday. then we'd be in 2nd. followed by either Antz or Play-Doh.
hmm..after devos, Silas asked me if i could help and ump the last game as well, so i talked to my brother if he minded staying for the last game as well, and he didn't, so i did that game too. i think i'm too loud when i ump! :P i scream a lot. but oh well! if ppl don't like it..kiss my ass! :)
went home for dinner with the family. it seems like i haven't ate with them in a while at home. so yeah, that was alright. :)
went bowling with the guys...and 2 girls..at Planet Bowl. we got two lanes. left lane consisted of Wilson, Silas, Joel, and Vince. right lane consisted of Joe, Rebecca, Phil, Vivien, and myself. it was a lot of fun. Victor was hilarious as well, since he was drunk and had a bet going with Silas. Victor betted on Vivien beating Phil, but Phil won both times. haha, but the funny thing was that it was only $2. and he didn't know he sat on spilt beer on the table. haha.
anyway, the games, each lane played two games. won by Vince, Joel, myself, and Joe. high score went to Vince, who posted 144. Joe put up a turkey (3 consecutive strikes), while Vince and i both came close, but couldn't nail down the last pin (strike, strike, 9).daaaaaah! lol..oh and i threw a ball halfway down the alley 'cuz it got stuck on my thumb..hahahahahahaa..yesh, i'm crazy. :)
so anyway, a pretty good couple of days. it has been fun! :) hope to have an interesting last couple weeks.
