F2005 Seekers - Game 1: 5-3 W
i'll talk about the hockey game later.
i'm gonna start off on Friday. hmm..not much to say about Friday actually. except that CCF was skit night. after CCF, Betty and i met up with Simon, Julie, Sarah, Wilfred, Jon Ting, and William at Mel's Diner. so we ordered. thing is, this group that came in just before us got their food so promptly. us, we're still sitting there waiting for the first dish to come. after an hr, we were fed up. the group had paid and left already and not one plate has been set down. so pretty much everyone except Betty and i went up to the counter and complained to the waitress. suffice to say, we cancelled our orders and left the joint. won't be going back there for a while! it's just bad service man. sure, you're busy, but still, you can't neglect customers. and it wasn't like we ordered a lot too. Simon and Julie were sharing a dish. William and Jon didn't even order anything. so there was only really 5 orders. so yeah anyway, everyone went home. i got Betty to come with me to BubbleTease to order some take out food. i got that order in 10-15mins! so got back to our place and watched an episode of CSI on CTV.
Saturday, i went to the American Optometry Students' Association (AOSA) Tradeshow that Joyce organized with a partner. i kinda just went for the last bit to enter a draw and to briefly check out some booths. there were some cool machines and stuff there, but i was afraid to talk to anyone 'cuz i wasn't even an optometry student. i didn't want to look stupid! hahaha.. :P but yeah, there were a lot of cool prizes, but yeah, i didn't win anything. boohiss! :P some dude won two things. but one of them was a woman's Guess watch! HAHAHAHA!
Saturday evening, i went over to Westcourt for a potluck dinner. since i didn't make anything to eat, i just brought some canned foods for the food bank. anyway, it was pretty chillin'. i spent most of the night playing Bang! actually, i spent the whole night playing Bang! lol :P at 9ish-pm, i left to play some volleyball at the CIF. it was with some of the CCF intramural vball team. i can't join them though 'cuz i'm already on another team. but yeah, we played and some of those guys were really HARDCORE! they were goooood! they can spike it like crazy. but when we actually played, i think they held back. thank goodness! haha..but yeah, it was a good time. :) there was a girl there that reminded me of Gwen from MCBCSL.
so yeah, today i had to wake up at 6am. i went to bed at 2am. lol, so all day, i've been running on 4hrs and a bit of sleep (i took a brief nap while waiting for Jeff Tong, more on this later). so yeah, hockey practice was at 7am, and Mike Yung came to pick me up at 6.30am. 7am is the earliest timeslot for ice time, but i think this is the only 7am practice that we have. there's a couple 8am ones i think.
aside: i'm so annoyed right now..
anyway, back to what i was talking about. 7am hockey practice. lemme think who showed up: Mike, Chris, Steve, Jeff Tong, Emily, Ken (not on the team though), Elliot, and Dave (coaching Elliot). so not too many ppl actually showed up to practice. either they were too lazy, or they were out of town. not much to say about practice except that Sportchek did a pretty shitty job on "sharpening" my skates. i had no grip whatsoever. i was sliding all over the place and it was so difficult just to turn.
after practice and Mike dropped me off back at WCRI, i bumped into Joyce and Denise who were waiting for the early Community Fellowship Church (CFC) bus. it was around 8.20am and the bus was suppose to come at 8.25am. it was a little late, but nothing serious. just chatted about..stuff. i don't remember anymore. :P
9am, Jeff Tong (JT) came to pick me up with Steve, Vanessa, Elaine, and another girl whose name escapes me at the moment to go to McDonald's for breakfast. mm..big breakfast with chocolate milk and 2 extra hash browns. it was filling! :D after that JT dropped me back off at WCRI for the 9.55am CFC bus run.
so yeah, i tried out a new church here in Waterloo. i haven't gone to church since, i can't even remember. but i went to Kitchner-Waterloo Chinese Alliance Church (KWCAC) once. their Sunday School is hardcore, but i found the sermon to be boring. it was a pretty bad first experience, so i stopped going to church altogether here in Waterloo for a while. but yeah CFC is quite a different atmopshere and quite short too. i was really tired by the end of the sermon 'cuz the adrenaline from hockey was finally wearing down. i actually almost fell asleep during a prayer session. :S
after service, went to eat lunch with William, Sharon, Simon, Julie, Wilfred, and Sarah at..McDonald's. yeah i was just there 3hrs ago too. exact same location. kinda depressing. i was so sick of it. ugh! no McDonald's for a while.
so after that, William dropped me off at home, and i forget what i did, but i know that for 10mins, i passed out while waiting for JT to pick me up on my couch. we went to National Sports to get our skates sharpened, and then just browsed around looking for things that we could maybe buy. i bought a new practice jersey 'cuz the one i have now is way too small on me, while JT got a new pair of hockey socks. we were also suppose to meet up with Joanna there, but we had a communication mix up. she thought we said Sportchek, but we were really at Nationals. but hey, she got a free skate sharpening from Sportchek for some reason.
anyway, we were able to meet up at FutureShop instead of National Sports...after i already bought what i was looking for. X-Men Legends II: Rise of Apocalypse. i haven't actually gotten around to playing it yet. been pretty busy today.
after FutureShop, we picked up Simon, and headed to the CIF arena for our hockey game at 4pm.
the game was against our nemesis, C-Cups. i think they've never liked us, and we've never liked them. however, they have this superstar on their team now, 1 of 2 guys. he's pretty good, he could play intermediate or advanced if he wanted to. but yeah, he was one of the guys on their team, the other one was the goalie.
as stated in the title heading, we won the game 5-3. 2 goals each from Simon and i, and Adam added another one. Simon's goals were legit. one of my goals was legit, but the other two should've never happened! haha.. my first goal wasn't really a goal. the refs called it wrong, and the other team even complained about it, but i'll take it. i was right out in the slot in front of the goalie with no one covering me. so Gabe passes it out from behind the net, and i one-time it right off the top right post. it made a really nice sound, but the refs thought it hit the back post. hehehe!! the rebound came right back at me and i just ripped it again, but the goalie got a piece of it, but by the time i was about to get the third rebound, the ref had blown his whistle signalling a goal! haha..WOOO! Adam's goal shouldn't have happened 'cuz the goalie made a mistake in coming out to play the puck. he played it right to Adam and he shot it into the vacant net. C-Cups lost a Spirit of Competition (SOC) point 'cuz the goalie got pissed and slammed his stick into the glass and breaking it in the process. way to go. all in all, a pretty good game i guess, but it still sucks that our division is made up of all-girls (or at least, majority girls) team. but we do have a first-time goalie on our hands.
so that was the hockey game. i was pretty tired after that, but when i got home, i didn't go take a nap. i could've, but i didn't. instead, i watched football. the New England Patriots vs Pittsburgh Steelers game was on Global, so i took most of that game in. at halftime, i took the much needed shower. :P ate an apple as a pre-dinner snack. i didn't want to cook 'cuz the girls were in the kitchen preparing some food for their dinner-party-fellowship they were having for their year at our place. so i thought i'd stay out of their way and yeah, kill time by watching the game before i headed off to the CIF for some volleyball.
volleyball never happened. the website was wrong according to my team captain. yeah so Campus Rec made a booboo 'cuz on the website it said that it was open gym at 8pm, but really, there was intramual volleyball all night until 11pm. so that kinda sucked. i went home after i found out and did my laundry. apparently when i got home, i looked really angry and i had a tone to my voice that seemed upset. i apologize to everyone who thought that. i wasn't angry or upset, i was just really tired. it had been a really long day. weird thing is that i didn't even go to bed until close to 3am that night too. oh well, i got my 11hrs 'cuz i didn't wake up until 2pm Monday afternoon.
Monday, the internet was out all day. pretty annoying and inconvenient 'cuz some of us actually needed the internet to do some work. well not me, but Betty needed it. oh well, that didn't stop me from watching The Longest Yard again, and some episodes of Bleach. are you happy now Bonnie? i watched episodes 3 and 4 today. :P i even went out and bought some snacks and drinks for myself.
i almost forgot that i had COW duties to do today too. COW = Co-Operative Work. that's basically chores for us who live here in WCRI and don't have committee or management positions. i have 4 two-hour shifts for the whole term, which isn't too bad. today, i had duties to clean B-Div. for some reason B-Div included A-Div North (probably 'cuz they have no servery). but anyway, i was assigned by the B-Div Division Manager with 4 other guys to clean A4 of the North Quad. don't worry if you don't understand what i'm saying. it only took me and the 4 guys to clean A4 1 hour. so that's pretty sweet. that's all we had to do. sweep and mop the stairs and the common room. simple. done in one hour. go home.
so yeah, internet is still not working when i get home, so i make dinner and eat it. and at around 8.30pm, i get bored so i go downstairs and talked to Betty for a bit. she was doing homework. something i should get to huh? and i cleaned a bit in the kitchen 'cuz it's filthy (we never really cleaned it, but we still used it). it's relatively clean now..i hope. and then i turned on the tv and channel surfed on the limited channels we get. i never knew that Monday Night Football was shown on CityTV now (yes we GET it!!). so i watched some of that game. at 10pm, i switched over to CTV for CSI: Miami. i still hate Horatio. why does he always have to stand on an angle and hold his sunglasses in his hands and trying to talk as if he's intimidating. someone should kill him.
now that i got that out of my system, after CSI, i watched a bit more of football, and got tired of watching the Denver Broncos kick the Kansas City Chiefs' asses, so i popped Kill Bill into the PS2 and watched that instead.
so, on day 2 without Internet..it's Tuesday. i'm not home for most of the day anyway. the day starts at 11.30am, and lasts until 9pm. and then normally it's badminton club, but tonight, i had an intramural volleyball game instead at 9pm. our team name is Over.net. we lost 2 games to none. :(
so yeah, Gabe & i spent most of the night trying to figure out what's wrong with the Internet. actually, i can't use it, but he can for some reason. i don't know why. apparently, Rogers cut us off 'cuz we had a virus. i never knew that Rogers does something like that. anyway, i got a new antivirus from UW, and installed that and ran it. never found the program that Rogers was talking about, something like w32.spybot.ngo. so yeah, never found that, but i found another one that had to do with ICQ sounds. startup.wav. quarantined it, deleted it 'cuz i don't use sounds for ICQ anymore anyway. still, internet didn't work for me. i'm starting to really dislike Rogers. anyway, the next time, Rogers is suspending us for a longer period of time. is that even legal?? why should Rogers even care? if one of our computers have a virus, does it really affect them? i wouldn't understand how it would. stupid Rogers. and they're also stupid for renaming the Skydome, Rogers Centre. GAY!
anyway, the rest of the day was pretty boring. nothing exciting to report. watched The Bourne Supremacy before i went to bed.
Wednesday..woke up at 2pm. yeah, i don't have class until 7pm. i might drop the class though, it's Mass Media Communication. so yeah, here i am at the lab, killing time before class starts, if i don't like it, i'll leave at break. and drop it. go to badminton club at CIF, and yeah..
