W2005 Term Commences
today was the first day of classes for most schools. my first class was at 1pm. it was Holocaust & Film. Jeff's also in that class, so we can help each other out. it was..boring. haha! we just talked about what the word holocaust means (sacrifice by fire), and we watched a film. it was old, and it was long. it was lopsided. it was made by Nazi Germany way back in the day, and it was explaining or trying to describe what and who the Jewish ppl were. they basically said they were inferior and that they were just like rats. they had to be exterminated. the Germans never used words like "kill" or "murder" in describing the executions of those entire ppl. they used words like "exterminate." it was brutal, but the film was boring. i fell asleep, even with the cold air blowing into the classroom. aside from the holocaust stuff, i noticed that Jeff and i were the only asian ppl in that class. everyone else is white, literally.
after class, we went to check out the bookstore for textbooks and stuff. i didn't buy any 'cuz i want to check the used bookstore first and see if i can get any books for cheaper. but the line there was so long, so i just skipped it. i'll go back like on Friday or something.
after that Jeff and i just went home. i played Smackdown with my Shelton Benjamin season. right now i'm the World Heavyweight Champ and the Intercontinental Champ. :P i'm on the Raw brand, and i'm so good that the Smackdown brand placed a bounty on my head. so yeah, i played that until i had to go to night class.
so night class was Contemporary Japanese Society. it was nothing i didn't know already. actually i needed my memory refreshed, but yeah, the first class was like a review session for me 'cuz i had this guy once already for my East Asian Studies in W2004 term. anyway, the prof had us fill out these cards with our name and some info. so i filled that thing out, and then he was reading the cards while teaching. so he picked on this guy, just like asking him what this chart thing looked like to him (it was just a flowchart). then when we got to occupation stuff, he flipped to a card, and he just so happened to flip to mine. i wrote that i wanted to work for a prestigious company one day. so he read that out loud and my heart was beating so fast 'cuz i didn't want him to call me out! haha, but he didn't, so i was like *whew!* but he kinda bashed me saying that what's wrong with working for a not so prestigious company? i guess that's true. i just want good pay! :P
so yeah, i was originally gonna stay for half the class, and leave at the break so i could catch the World Junior Championships with Ben and Jeff, but i ended up staying for the whole class 'cuz i'd feel bad for just leaving like that. however, when the class was over, i was able to catch the last period of the game, so i pretty much missed out on all the goal scoring action. but who cares! we're the World Junior Champions! the last 3 years have been good for our country in hockey. we've won World Championships, World Cups, World Juniors, and Olympics.
so i ended off the day with Shaolin Soccer and finally dinner. i was gonna eat at Molly Blooms (where we watched hockey), but i opted to save my money and yeah didn't risk having to wait for the food and having to eat it when the game was already over. plus it was pretty cramped where we were watching. 6 ppl in a 4 person booth isn't such a great idea when you want to eat. :P
gonna get up at around 10am-ish, so i can go skating with Jeff. he wanted to go free skating, so i'm gonna join him and test out my new Nike skates on arena surface since i've already played with them on outdoor rinks. :P hockey is starting up soon! YAY!! :D i'm excited!
