Remembered, Not Forgotten
it's been an odd day.
my day started at about 8am-ish. why? no reason why. i couldn't sleep. ever since i've been home, i've had trouble sleeping and i don't know why. (because i got high, because i got high...hahaha..remember that song? :P) i went to bed at around 3am-ish last night so i only got about 5hrs of sleep last night.
so anyway, yesterday i went over to Andre's house for a birthday celebration. Jeff and Hubert were there too. we had hotpot while watching Family Guy. by the time we were finished eating, it was 10pm. we started at 7pm. hahaha, we got so caught up in the show, i don't even know how many episodes we watched, but that show is so funny and random. i wonder if the new ones that are coming this summer are gonna be up to par as these old ones! lol..i'm looking forward to it.
Andre was also able to help me reformat the C drive on my computer as well, thanks a lot! it's much better now! no pop ups! haha altho everything was working fine at his place, when i got back to my place i totally forgot that i had to re-install my wireless network adapter. so i took the cd out and ran it..nothing happens. the cd reads, and a window pops up for like a split second. i was like..uh oh! crap! NOOOOO!! lol..so, i called it a night. :P
so this leads me to this morning. i woke up for no apparent reason. i just couldn't go back to sleep, so i was like screw this. so i went downstairs and had breakfast. then i used the computer downstairs to check out the Linksys website to see if i could troubleshoot my problem. haha whaddayaknow, it helps me. i had to turn off my computer, and take out the adapter and put it back in so the system could detect a new hardware. hahaha..THEN i could use the stupid cd! so after all of that, everything was clear sailing from here.
downloaded a whole bunch of things and re-installed several other things. and i've switched my loyalty to other brands on the net too on the advice of some ppl that are Internet savvy. haha :P so, i'm using this free anti-virus program, and also, i've been using some free products from Mozilla too! i love how they named their products! Firefox and Thunderbird! Internet browser and email client, respectively. it's so cool! the logos for these products are really cool too! hahaha!
ok, anyway, when i was having lunch, i dug up this really old tape with some tributes on it. it was taped in either 1999 or 2000. it featured tributes to Greg Moore and Owen Hart. both athletes died too young (i dunno how old they were, but they were pretty young, late 20s/early 30s). it brought back some memories of watching them perform.
Greg Moore was a CART racer, a pretty good one too. he was one of my favourites at the time. he raced for my favourite CART team, Team Players, and he was Canadian too! he was a up and comer, i think he would've won a championship sooner or later, but he died sooner. i remember sitting infront of my TV watching that fateful race where he died. he was coming out of a turn at the Fontana Speedway, and he just lost control completely, and i saw the car slam into the inside concrete wall. it wasn't pretty, when i saw that, i just knew that it would take a miracle for him to survive that crash. just the angle he went into thet wall was just devastating to watch. he went into the wall head first i believe, and when i say head first, i mean that in the most literal sense. not the head of the car, but the helmet in which his head was in. so yeah you can imagine your head going into concrete wall at about 100+mph, i don't think anyone can survive that unless you're superhuman. so it was sad. TSN actually did a half-hour tribute show to him, showing highlights and interviews that he has done. it's too bad that CART is practically almost dead now. fighting to survive now against the rival IRL league.
Owen Hart was a wrestler in the WWE. he's also Bret 'The Hitman' Hart's younger brother. he died in a freak accident that shouldn't have happened in the first place. he was doing a PPV show called Over the Edge in Kansas City. his gimmick at the time was the Blue Blazer because Bret had been screwed by Vince McMahon, so he went to WCW. anyway, so the Blue Blazer was suppose to be this masked superhero, and that night he was suppose to enter the ring from the rafters. so you can guess what happened. the harness that was to bring him down malfunctioned and he plummeted to his death. so tragic, and so unnecessary. his tribute show (done by TVO) took us through his life, how he was brought up, and how he ended up in the WWE. he was one of my favourites in the WWE 'cuz he was part of the Hart Foundation, led by my favourite wrestler, Bret Hart. it's too bad that both Hart brothers left the WWE in a crappy way.
i think around that time i was thinking, how come all my favourite athletes are dying? 'cuz i think NASCAR racer, Dale Earnhardht Sr. also died around that time in a race. i think he was even leading that race when he slammed into the wall. after a while i started to try to force myself to like Micheal Schumacher lol..'cuz i didn't like him. i still don't. he's making F1 so boring 'cuz he's alway dominating the races. booo! lol.
so now i'm just sitting here watching Thursday night TV. kinda watched The O.C., but yeah, the show is starting to lose my attention. probably because of Seth. he's so annoying, i think he should shut up more. and then it was CSI, too bad it was a rerun. lastly, i was expecting to see ER, but it didn't show up, and i got CSI: Miami, so i turned the channel to WWE Smackdown! instead. that was my night in a nutshell.
i need to study. i shall study all of tomorrow (at least i'll try), and most of Saturday. i think there's a Christmas service for MCBC at Glenforest Secondary School this Saturday (is that right? is there a service Saturday night??), so i'll probably be going to that.
then Sunday, go to church, then pick up Ben, and head up to Waterloo to prepare for my test on the 20th. and then Monday at 5pm, or maybe even earlier, FREEDOM! NO MORE SCHOOL until January something..should find out huh..but not now. :D
ok i think i'm gonna be going to bed soon!
