Partay!
back to skating on Tuesday night. haha it was fun. it was nice to skate outdoors instead of in the rink. the ice was relatively smooth, and i love my new skates! anyway, i thought it was funny watching these fobs go all out skating and then wiping out, and then not being able to get up 'cuz they don't know how to properly get up. lol. it was amusing. but it was also fun skating with friends and all! :)
yesterday i was able to finish off my Christmas shopping. just had to buy my parents presents and that's all. so hit up Square One again with my brother this time. found a parking spot pretty easy in the underground. so that was good! :D
we get into the mall, and we're like..where to. first place we ALWAYS go to is HMV. i bursted out laughing as soon as i walked into the store. why? because they were playing New Kids On The Block. i think it was Right Stuff. anyway, we just browsed around and then left. there were a couple things i wanted, but i decided to wait until it got cheaper.
but yeah, soon after that we found what we were gonna get for mom, and what i was gonna get for dad since he already bought something for dad. got mom gift certificates to her favourite store, and dad a new pair of slippers. had no point left to stay in the mall, so we took off for home.
so later that night, my family and i were going out for my birthday dinner. i couldn't really decide where to go, it was between Canyon Creek and Red Lobster. CC is expensive, so i opted with RL. so we were gonna go when my sister got home from work. but before she got home, my grandma, my aunt, and my aunt and uncle visiting from the States surprise visit us. so, we're like..uh..ok..i was a little peeved 'cuz they kinda invited themselves over and then invited themselves out to dinner with us. i dunno, sure they're family, but it was uninvited.
so we went anyway, some of us complained, some of us didn't. but we were all civil. anyway, my uncle and aunt who were visiting ordered wine i think (i'm not sure), and they and my grandma were drinking it. by the end of the night, i think my grandma was drunk! lol! she was like toasting every 5 minutes and laughing a lot. she was wasted!
fast forward to today. or tonight rather. it was Silas' Christmas/Thank You party. it was a lot of fun, and lots of catching up with some ppl. took a lot of pictures too. it was mostly chatting, but some ppl watched bball and played poker and euchre.
received a gift from Joyce and Odie tonight too. thanks for the chocolate calendars! although half of it was MEAN, i still appreciate your thoughtfulness :P running it to the van WAS necessary. :P also received a gift from Silas at the end of the night. they were cookies! yums!
anyway, during the night, it was nice chatting and such, then came cake time. i thought nothing of it, that is until someone said something. she will remain unnamed. :P but it was funny. she said something along the lines of "lemme take pictures of you cutting the cake!" and i was like.."huh? why would i be cutting the cake?" then i thought about it..and i was like "noo..[name] explain!!" haha she didn't know that i didn't know. but yeah, it was amusing. then i took my spot and yeah..paparazzi..received the birthday song, and then proceeded to cut the cake. it was a Christmas themed birthday cake with little plastic lightbulbs on it. it would've been so cool if they were edible, like some candy or something. lol..but all in all it was a nice surprise, kinda like the one i had at 95 Columbia a few years ago, but this time with a different and bigger group. i never saw it coming. thanks to Silas, Ben, and Wilson for organizing it. much appreciated everything. :D
so that was tonight...i'm gonna upload pictures pretty soon. i'll post a notification when i have finished with that. it'll probably be done tomorrow.
so what's next on my events agenda? hockey or football on Christmas Day, and Christmas dinner with my family. :D
pretty good holiday season so far! :D
