Freaking Freak

first off..

Happy Birthday Mohammed!

oh geez, i know nothing about music history! well popular music history anyway! my prof was naming off these names of ppl that we probably heard of, and i was like..who are these ppl?! oh well, it's not important. it's not like information that i need to know in a life or death situation anyway. i still find that class interesting, today we went from the 2nd half of the British Invasion (The Rolling Stones, and The Who), into Soul music (The Supremes, Otis Redding) and next week into Funk.

i must say, The Who are messed up. i'm thinking that today, think about what the American public thought when they first saw that back in 1967! they were a group that liked to break their little instruments like they're pieces of nothing. they were wealthy huh. oh well, i'm going nowhere with this anyway.

so today, i planned on waking up at 11.30am. i did, but i went back to sleep for 5 more minutes. 5mins turned into an hour and a half. so it was 1pm when i woke up. i had to do a double-take on the time (look twice) in case my eyes were fooling me. but yeah it was 1pm. ARGH! stupid! so i ended up missing my afternoon class 'cuz i didn't feel like rushing and running to class. thank goodness for a notetaker! ;P so yeah, what did i do? i did what i did on the weekend, minus the comics! got up, got lunch, watch an episode of Friends and then..went back to sleep for like another 3 hours. i've gotten so much sleep lately. i think it's a sign of depression really.

i haven't exactly been in the most upbeat mood lately, and i've been staying up pretty late too (until about 4-5am). i think i go thru this phase every term. can't really explain why, but i think every term i just get depressed and lonely. bah. must stop thinking about it.

i'm so hungry right now too. the food here is starting to really suck. gosh. someone pointed out that the food from lunch is beginning to show up for dinner. and that's pretty true. and the fact that we can't get seconds no more is even more stupid. what the hell are we paying for?? i'm glad i'm living this WCRI dump after this term. my tolerance for it is eroding. and i think school is starting to get to my head too, but that's a totally different issue.

i think i'm just so sick of life right now. i feel like everything is souring, or maybe it's just my doing. what a kicker. HEHE ME EXPLODE! KABOOM!

anyway, today's Marvel SuperVillian is played by the hot Rebecca Romijn in the X-Men movie series..

Fact File

Mystique possesses an almost pathological capacity for deception. the sinister shapeshifter has infiltrated the highest levels of the government, trading on her lofty status to further her terrorist objectives. a sworn enemy of humans, Mystique wages a one-woman war against those who hate and fear mutants.

Mystique's Powers
Mystique can psionically shift the atoms and molecules of her body and clothing to mimic the appearance of any human, humanoid or semi-humanoid.

Mystique's Weapons
Mystique wields various-caliber handguns. also, her influence as Raven Darkholme has afforded her access to advanced weaponry, military secrets and other assets she has exploited for her own subversive purposes.

Mystique's Beginnings
because she can eliminate the signs of aging, it is impossible to determine Mystique's true date of birth. apparently, she learned to use her mutant ability at an early age, as there is no evidence that Raven Darkholme ever resembled anything other than a normal human being. Mystique has concealed her mutant ability and criminal intentions by assuming an endless string of identities. as Darkholme, she rose rapidly through the U.S. Civil Service. in short order, she ascended to the trusted position of deputy director in the U.S. Department of Defense.

Mystique's History
to aid her criminal activities, Mystique established the second incarnation of the Brotherhood of Evil Mutants - originally founded by Magneto. the new Brotherhood attempted to murder Senator Robert Kelly, an anti-mutant activist, however the X-Men thwarted the assassination. as anti-mutant sentiment increased, Mystique cleverly offered the squad's services to the government, then sealed the deal by bringing Magneto to justice. the newly rechristened Freedom Force became an official government agency, and Mystique received a full presidential pardon.

Mystique's most ambitious terrorist act led to the eradication of the Legacy Virus, a lethal mutant plague. she reassembled the Brotherhood and released a new strain of the deadly disease that targeted normal humans. the Brotherhood then descended upon biogeneticist Moira MacTaggert, seeking to destroy the scientist's work in pursuit of a cure. MacTaggert was able to divine an antidote to the virus based on Mystique's modifications, though she sustained fatal injuries in the attack.

Mystique's Mortal Enemies
the X-Men, the outlaw band of heroic mutant adventurers, have stood most often between Mystique and her extremist ends.

Mystique's Loyal Alliances
Mystique lived with her closest friend, the blind mutant seer, Destiny, and helped raise the power-stealing spitfire known as Rogue.

Fast Fact
Mystique has not demonstrated an ability to imitate nonhumanoid beings, animals, plants or inanimate objects. doing so likely would interfere with the proper functioning of her internal organs and possibly result in her death.
