wow, today i found out some pretty interesting information about the Red Sox World Series win. it was like it was meant to be.

so, here goes:

i just really found all this quite fascinating!

Manny Ramirez won the World Series MVP as he had a 17-game hitting streak (hit safely in all playoff games this year, and dating back to last year's playoffs). i guess it was well deserved! Pedro Martinez had class and dedicated the championship to the ppl of Montreal and Boston. Martinez started his career in Montreal, and thought about that missed opportunity in the 1994 strike-shorten season where they were the best team in baseball. they could've won the World Series then.

this championship is great for Boston. it's like this huge burden has been lifted off their chest. the "curse" could finally be laid to rest and everyone can shut up about it now. now if only the Chicago Cubs can replicate this. the Cubbies haven't won the World Series since 1908 i believe. yeah. and in hockey, it's the business-oriented Toronto Maple Leafs..since 1967? i dunno..haha..i'm not a Leaf fan! :P

so..now what sports are there to watch? NFL. PGA. oh NBA is starting up soon! oooooo!! :P

anyway..now back to MY world haha! i went to Health Services again today. this time it wasn't about my ankle. this time it was about my right eye (see, everything happens to my right side!!!) anyway, since Tuesday night my eye has been irritating me and when i woke up this morning, i looked in the mirror and my eye was a little swollen. WTF? so i kinda started to freak out. i thought i had like pink-eye or something! so yeah, i thought, this isn't right. so after class, i went to Health Services to see what was up. apparently my eyelid had somehow got infected. how? BEATS ME? i have no idea how! it's retarded!

so, tonight i'm going to this Caribbean Students' Association Jam. it should be interesting. i promised some friends that i would go to this, so i'm committed. i missed out on a $2 discount because i was too late to go buy earlybird tickets. dah! oh well, i'll have to pay at the door.

tomorrow there's CCF, i think it's worship night, and then a hockey practice right after that. for our next game, we're gonna be quite shorthanded on the bench. we only have 11 players dressing, and with that number, not everyone has confirmed that they can play! whoa, we're gonna be crazy tired! haha.. :P woo more ice time tho! haaha! :D

so, midterms. i got another mark back last night. so, these are my marks so far, i don't care who knows..good for you if you've beaten me! ;P so Popular Music & Culture, i got a 65% on the 1st test. boooo!! Social Psychology of Leisure, i got a 73%, which is decent! and the last mark i've received back was Sociology of Sport, and i got an 83% in that one. haha i was so surprised, didn't think i did that well on that test because i was freaking out about it. i'm nervous for my History of Popular Culture test tho. i haven't gotten that mark back yet. hopefully it'll be decent at the least. :)

Silver Surfer's Powers

as keeper of the Power Cosmic, the Silver Surfer can generate powerful force blasts, rearrange molecules and endow himself with superhuman strength. further, his Cosmic Awareness allows him to feel energy at work around him.

Silver Surfer's Weapons

Silver Surfer's Beginnings

Norrin Radd was a member of a race of aliens who had achieved a virtual utopia. disease, poverty, war and all other social ills had been eradicated, allowing the Zenn-Lavians to live in idle hedonism. their security was shattered, however, with the arrival of an alien craft of inestimable power. Radd offered to board the ship to discuss peace and soon found himself face-to-face with Galactus, devourer of planets. Galactus mused that if he had a herald who could locate suitable worlds for him to consume, populated planets such as Zenn-La would be spared. in exchange for his planet's saftey, Radd volunteered for the duty.

Silver Surfer's History

as the Silver Surfer, Radd served Galactus, scouring space for planets with an abundance of life-energy. after visiting Earth, the Surfer finally betrayed Galactus and refused to supply his master's world-devouring appetite. his punishment was confinement to that planet. always gazing skyward, the Surfer hoped to return to his homeworld, Zenn-La, and his lover, Shala-Bal. Radd eventually reached home only to learn that Galactus had exacted the ultimate revenge by devastating Zenn-La. horrified by this revelation and the knowledge that Mephisto had abducted Shala-Bal, the Surfer returned to Earth in pursuit of his lover. with the Surfer again detained on Earth, Mephisto returned Shala-Bal to Zenn-La, but not before the Surfer endowed her with enough of his cosmic energy to restore their barren planet. breaking away from his exile, today Radd soars the spaceways as Earth's unwitting protector.

although once his personal scout, the Silver Surfer stands as an interplanetary irritant to the powerful Galactus - eager to hinder his former master's devastating hunger. Silver Surfer's Loyal Alliances while earthbound, the Silver Surfer joined the loose-knit team of heroes known as the Defenders - grudgingly fighting the good fight alongside Dr. Strange, Namor, and Hulk.
