RantRantRant

i was reading some of the "Voices: Our Games Performance" in the Toronto Star & a lot of ppl are trashing the Canadian Hockey Team. even though i kinda trashed them in my last post, i still thought that they tried. who doesn't try when it comes to the Olympics? we're the freaking defending Gold medalists! why wouldn't we try to defend it?

i agree with one guy that posted (keeping them anonymous):
"Overall, great. The only real disappointment was men's hockey. They should have gone much further but to be shutout in 3 games shouldn't have happened. I really feel we were out-coached. The other teams seemed to be better prepared and had a better game plan. The coaches job is also to motivate."
however, i disagree with these next two comments (authors anonymous again):
"We now have the proof that millionaires have no place in the Olympic Games. The true Olympic spirit is shown by the amateurs and their families who have sacrificed so much to compete for Canada in the Olympics. Four of these athletes won gold or silver on Wednesday while the millionaire hockey players had to scuttle home empty handed."

"I believe our Canadian athletes have done very well at the games except for those lazy, disorganized hockey players. Our Canadian women have done extremely well, bringing home all kinds of medals and should be congratulated. I don't know who chose those rich Hockey players. They always looked as it they were at the games just to be seen and not to play hockey. Let's hope at the next Olympic games, we will choose younger players with the desire to win gold."
sure, millionaires have no place in the Olympics Games, afterall, the Olympics IS about amateur players - NHL players are pros & they shouldn't be there to begin with. but, NHL players families also sacrifice much for them to play in the NHL. NHL players are sacrificing their bodies to play in the Olympics when they shouldn't be 'cuz their first priority should be to their NHL teams. they're getting paid to play in the NHL, not the Olympics. so if players get injured in the Olympics, well their NHL team suffers. sure take one for the country, but there's no compensation for it, just pride. just look at the Vancouver Canucks, they're decimated with injuries now on their blueline. good thing Ed Jovanovski didn't go play for Canada, he needed to rest up his groin, but now Mattias Ohlund has broken ribs, & Sami Salo has a dislocated shoulder. there goes their top 3 defencemen.

lazy and disorganized hockey players? our Canadians are lazy, disorganized hockey players? they don't get paid millions to do nothing. they don't get selected to play for Canada for being lazy and disorganized. they're selected because in Gretzky's eyes, they are the best players in our nation, the best players to represent us in the Olympics. haha, and the person said, they don't know who chose the rich hockey players...then why are you commenting on them anyway then. EVERYONE knows that Gretzky & his management team picked these players! sheesh! not to mention, Team Canada wasn't the only team that had a bunch of rich millionaire hockey players on their roster. Russia, Slovakia, Czech Republic, Sweden, they all had majority NHL millionaire players as well, so everyone was in the same deal. they were all in the same boat as us. most of theier players had NHL games in North America & flew over to Torino at the same time as the Canadians did. so don't blame the fact that we were flying over & we were too fatigued to play 6 games in 8 nights. that's just a bunch of bullshit!!

oh, one more thing, Vancouver 2010, we will have a lot of younger players 'cuz a lot of players are done after this Olympics too. so...psh!

Team Canada just didn't EXECUTE. doesn't mean that they're lazy and disorganized. they just didn't play well as a team. ok, maybe that is being a little disorganized, but they weren't lazy. they played hard, i believe that. why would you half-ass at a big stage such as the Olympics? man, we expect way too much out of Team Canada. we can't win everything, even if we have all the talent in the world!

for example, the Yankees in baseball, look at how many superstars they have on their team. they haven't won a World Series in what..4 years? so that's just a little comparison.

Team Canada didnt' win the Gold or any medal for that fact. accept it. quit whining.... homos.

ok, so that was all about hockey. next, i gotta rant about work. i worked again today for my dad at Boca. ok, the stuff at the warehouse was not too bad. the only downside was the fact that the stuff that was left was pretty heavy stuff. i let the other guys do most of the lifting while i pushed them near the door! hehhee. :P

there WAS one embarrassing moment though. i was just listening to my Shuffle, i believe the song was BBMak's Back Here, & i was just singing away. then i see this guy walk in, & i'm like..oh man, this guy definately heard me singing!! haha..it was a big surprise, but i didn't act like i was embarrassed or anything, BUT i think i could've came up with a better opening line to him. "Oh hi! What's up?!" HAHAHA..oh hi, what's up?! GOOD impression there B! haha, anyway, the guy was pretty cool about it, he was the building manager & he came by to check up on some water heater or something for Hydro. we chatted for a short while, he was just telling me that he knew my dad for a long time & stuff. so yeah, good small talk, but i really gotta work on addressing elders better than "oh hi, what's up!" hahhaa..i should've been more like, "oh hi, can i help you?" yeah. he even asked me how old i was, & i said i was "23," then i was like "wait..i'm 24..no..hmm"...haha he was nice, but must've thought i was a dumbass!

ANYWAY..so we finished the warehouses by 12.30pm. so we were making pretty good time. our aim was to be finished by 2pm, so we're early. i was even able to clean up most of the excess cardboard & garbage around the warehouse while i was waiting for the truck to come back from Boca.

went back to Boca & had lunch, then helped unload. after that, office work. man, my only beef about working at Boca's office is how incredibly inefficient it is. my sister had me put these stickers with the correct labels on to the catalogue pages that have mistakes on them. looks really unprofessional in my opinion. if there was one page, fine, ok, but there were 6 pages with mistakes on them. while i was doing it, i found ANOTHER mistake and my sister had the nerve to tell me to stop reading them & pointing out mistakes. *throws arms in the air* what the heck?! i'm telling you there's a mistake, & you're just brushing it aside as if you don't care? like, do you guys even LOOK over these things for mistakes before you send them to the copiers? what a waste of money!

after i was finished putting all the stickers & stuff on the pages, my sister then tells me to take whatever left of the page protectors & put 5 in each envelope the catalogue pages are in. WHAT THE HECK man, why didn't you tell me this earlier?! now i have to go back & put more shit in the envelopes. you could've just told me to do that & the stickers at the SAME FREAKING TIME! wasted so much time on that.

incredible. i'm kinda glad i'm not working there this summer! i think i would've like shot myself or something.

oh well, at least i had some interesting MSN conversations while i was doing the stupid sticker stuff. so retarded, i swear.

i'm done with my rants. maybe i just bitch too much.

bye! :D
