A Little Bit of the World, A Little Bit of Me
i'm gonna be going on a bunch of tangents here. i just jotted down some thought throughout the weekend on notepad, so this post won't be too flow-y.
to start off. i'll talk about 41-year old Scott Stevens. he's a former NHL player for the New Jersey Devils. he captained that team to 3 Stanley Cup Championships (1995, 2000, 2003). he was a hard hitter, known for his ferocious hits on opposing players. his best known hits were probably on Slava Kozlov (while he was with the Detroit Red Wings), Eric Lindros (while he was with the Philadelphia Flyers), & Paul Kariya (when he was with the Anaheim Mighty Ducks). all these memorable hits were during the playoffs.
anyway, Devils retired his number on February 3. i just found it really interesting that, the first number the franchise is retiring is the number 4. & since i'm Chinese, & with the Chinese superstition, the number 4 isn't one of the "good" numbers since it kinda resembles the word "death." & death here is relating back to the name of the team - Devils. haha..i dunno. i'm weird.
so i just thought that was interesting.
anyway, i was looking back at my latest blogs, & i realized that i haven't gotten a comment for 7 straight posts. where did all my viewers go? or has my blogs been..that boring? (actually, Mike commented yesterday on one of my posts!). haha i dunno. i like comments ppl!!! :D
can anyone tell me what's WRONG with this picture?! answer revealed at the end of the blog.

yesterday, one of my good friends wrote a poem & a blurb about me! here it is (i got permission to post it up!) thanks, the poem is AWESOME! :D
The Dante's Inferno Test has sent you to Purgatory!
Here is how you matched up against all the levels:
Take the Dante's Inferno Test
so yeah. i only got like 5.5hrs of sleep last night. so i took a nap after i finished off all the readings i needed to do for the DSoS class. i passed out for about an hr. i just needed it. the nap didn't even really help 'cuz i was just going in & out of consciousness while i was reading my lecture notes. :S so not cool. but anyway, i went to write the test, i didn't think it was that bad, but who knows. i always think i do ok on tests, but i end up getting crappy marks.
i got some marks back from 2 of my earlier tests. for Emotionally Disturbed Child, i did crap. 61.3%. garbage if ya ask me! & then my Interpersonal Relations class, i knew i blew the written portion & it killed me. got a 66% on that one. so far, so crap. not good, crap. gotta shape up....after reading week. :P
so anyway, reading week is fast approaching. not that i really need the break since i already have a pretty sweet schedule. my reading week is gonna be extra long. 1.5 weeks to be exact, since i end on Wednesdays at 12pm. i'm gonna see if my bro can come pick me up again either on Wednesday or Thursday.
oh yeah, one more issue i wanted to talk about. not really my issue, but more like an observation that someone else made that i thought was kinda..eye opening i suppose. i'm sure some of you guys have heard about the whole Muslim violence that's been going on overseas. it all started with a Danish cartoon that was published with the caricatures of the Prophet Muhammad. apparently it portrayed Muhammad hiding a bomb in his turban or something. correct me if i'm wrong please. i don't want to offend anyone of the Muslim faith.
so yeah, as a result of this comic, there was a huge backlash or a huge outpouring of complaints that ppl of Muslim faith are boycotting anything that's Danish. they even set the Danish embassy in fire in Syria. my friend's comment was that this just goes to prove the comic 'cuz the Muslim ppl are turning to violence because of this. i just thought that was interesting.
why does mankind turn to violence to resolve conflicts. i'll never understand. & the whole Iraq thing is still pointless to me. i don't see why ppl need to be there. ppl are just dying.
anyway, enough banter.

[start]i was also bored last night when i was trying to study for my Dark Side of Sex test tonight. i just looked around on MSN Spaces on my contact list & i ran into this.
BENSON
I have this friend named B
And he really likes to pee (i'm good eh?? hahaha :p)
He is a movie fanatic
Who thinks I am a lunatic...
Ok..his real name is Benson
And he really likes to win
Benson is always trying to get me to study
Because he's such a good buddy.
He is one of my bestest friends who makes me smile
Even though we're separated by one heck of a mile
I love playing catch with B
Because he throws so hard and fast the others flee!!!!!
Benson tortured my Popples at my 20th Birthday.... (MEAN!)
But then he redeemed himself another day (what a great picture that is!!! hehe)
I can tell he's a real Popple lover at heart
Because he really is smart.
Benson is an ALLSTAR at all sports he plays
Cuz he lives off them all the days
He's very scary when he's mad
So I stay away or else it'll be bad.
I've known him for quite a while
So he always knows how to make me laugh or smile
Benson is one of my good friends
No matter how much the road bends.
Aww, this was such a nice one. I said like nothing bad...haha. I've known Benson since my first year of playing softball I think. :p He was the one that everyone was scared of cuz he's so PRO!!! :p And then I knew of him for a good 4/5 years and then in the last two years we actually started talking...I don't remember how or why...but yeah, then we became good friends. :) I'm still scared of him sometimes...but I know him now so it's not AS scary. ;) Thanks for all the craziness bud. Congrats on grad coming up!!! :D
