F2005 Seekers - Semi-Final Playoff: 3-1W
Sunday morning, woke up for church. haha..Betty, Gabe, & i lost track of time. the bus comes at 10.15am, & when we checked our watches, it was 10.17am. we're like, bus is normally late anyway, we should be ok. only when we got outside, there was like no one there. wtf?! haha..the bus was ON TIME today?! friiiig! hahaha..it was so funny. we live right outside the bus stop, literally. & we missed the bus. hahaha! so Betty called William. he never called back. but then i called William, & he called ME back! hahahaha..i thought that was funny. so yeah, William was able to give us a lift to church.
service was really good today. it was really deep. i heard that it left some ppl crying in the sanctuary. it was the 6th part in a series called Amazed by Jesus. the topic was How He Sees Me. the main focus was that Jesus loves us all, the Bible tells us so. i'm sure some of you have heard of that song before. the speaker posed the question: "What does Jesus see when Jesus looks at me?" the answer: "Jesus sees someone he LOVES!" :) it was a really good talk.
so yeah, we had our first playoff game today, & yes, it was a semi-final game seeing that there are only 4 teams in the whole division. so we played the Puck Bunnies & hopefully they gave us a good SOC score. we didn't like just go out & score a bunch of goals, actually, they scored the 1st goal on a fluky shot. haha..Elliot said he didn't know what happened. haha, i guess he had a lapse. :P haha then we just went out & tied it before the period closed out. anyway, on one play, i fell flat on my ass while skating backwards. hahah that was funny. then there was another play where Tim lost his glove when he fell, & then he went to get his glove again, but then he wiped out again! hahaha..& all this was in the offensive zone too, so we were waiting for him to come out so that we're not offside! haha it was funny.
so yeah, our next game is at 11pm on Monday, November 28 at the CIF arena! if you're in Waterloo, come out & cheer us on for the championship! :P (i think it's at 11pm. i'll have to double check on that one).
so right after the hockey game, i had an intramural volleyball game. it was 1st round. so yeah, i rushed out of the change room to run to the CIF gyms 'cuz i was already late for the 5pm start. only to realize that, there were only 2 other teammates there. hrm..that's not right. we waited & waited, & the 15min time was running out until we defaulted. but alas, another one showed up just in time for us to start. 4 is the minimum # of players we're allowed to have to have a game. so we were so lucky!
so we got underway. 4 against 6. we were up to the challenge. we got off to a slow start & couldn't really recover in the 1st game. so we lost the first game. it's a best 2 out of 3 games for the win. so 2nd game, we played a lot better, & surprisingly won! we had a lot of good shots, good serves, along with their unforced errors. the last game was up to 15. it was really cool. a good game. it was neck & neck until the end. i was able to serve for the win! YAY! :P our captain showed up towards the end of the last game 'cuz he didn't expect to get back from London as late as he did (he was there for the OUA badminton finals, which Western claimed. booo Western!! :P). but yeah, he was amazed & was proud of us as a team 'cuz we showed, & we advanced to the quarterfinals! :D!
next game for vball is on Wednesday, November 23 at 4pm at the CIF as well. :)
so Friday was Concert of Prayer for CCF. it was a joint event with Laurier's CCF. it was pretty good, most of the songs i recognized. it was a good night. :)
then, afterwards, Alpha headed over to Westcourt for our Alpha Retreat. about 8 of us were able to make it for the evening. it was fun & relaxing. we started off with an anagram game with everyone's name in the booklet. it was kinda funny when everyone was trying to figure out who in our cell group had a "v" in their name when it was so obvious. Victoria! hahaha..thought that was funny. anyway, had some snacks & stuff.
then we went down for the 1st of 3 videos we were to watch for the retreat, only to find that the VCR was having problems. so Chung drove Victoria back to her place to get another VCR. while they were doing that, 4 of us were playing MarioKart for n64. haha..it was fun. then they came back with the VCR. that also took a while to set up, trying to get it to work haha..but we finally got it working! :P it was like 11-11.30pm by that time. some of us were kinda bummed out, but we were able to get through it, have discussions too. we crashed at around 2.30-3am.
wake up at 8.30am. had breakfast while watching the 2nd video. man breakfast was GOOOOD! scrambled eggs, waffles, strawberries, & bacon! SOO GOOD! after that we kinda did a game with cups & the point was to keep the rhythm of random hand & cup movements going around. it's suppose to encourage teamwork & unity among the group. it was a lot of fun, especially during the practice when we were learning the sequence that Chung made up. we actually got some digicam movies going on these. it was so cool 'cuz we did it in the dark, & put these glowing balls inside the cups. it was pretty neat. :P
anyway, by that time i was about lunch time. noon. but none of us were really that hungry, since breakfast was so big & good! so we just decided to go ahead with the 3rd & last video of the retreat. the whole talk during retreat was mainly about the Holy Spirit, & how everyone needs to be filled with the Holy Spirit. discussions were pretty low since everyone was pretty beat by the time the video was over.
after the video we went up, & had some lunch, & then just shared about what we learned during the retreat & then Alpha as a whole. so yeah, that was pretty cool. :) i think i can truely say that i've learned a lot from Alpha this term. i really do owe it to Eric for asking me if i wanted to go with him. i'm glad i didn't turn the offer down. it's all been very overwhelming, especially for someone who is still learning & deciding where to put his faith. it's really encouraging too. :)
when Alpha was over, i headed over to the PAC to see Angie, who was up here for the UWBadminton Club's Survival of the Fittest tournament. i got there in time to see her play in her semi-final women's doubles match. she lost. booo. anyway, the surprising thing was that Grace was there too! didn't expect to see here there. i met some of her friends too, so that was cool. didn't stay for very long though.
spent the evening just watching some Hockey Night in Canada. passed out during the Leafs/Thrashers game though. haha..i was tired, & the game was lopsided. so it wasn't too entertaining to me. then the late game was Oilers/Blackhawks. how exciting. not really.
ok i'm tired & not in a good mood either.
g'nite.
