Still Shocked

everytime i read something about Eddie Guerrero, it still leaves me with goosebumps. i'm still shocked at the fact that he's really gone. he has really passed on. i keep telling myself that it's a storyline. it's a fake. it's something that the WWE planned. but the fact of the matter is, he really did die.

it sucks that God has taken him away from us at such a young age. he was only 38yrs old, & had a whole lifetime ahead of him. he had a wife, 3 young daughters, ranging from 14-3 (i think). but i guess God thought he had done what he was meant to do. so i'm sure he's enjoying his time up in Heaven, wrestling with God, with Owen Hart, & all the other wrestlers who are up there.

i think my best memory of Eddie was at WrestleMania XX. it was right at the end of the show when Benoit had just won the World Heavyweight Championship off Triple H. when Benoit got his belt & turned around, there Eddie was, Benoit's best friend in the WWE, right in the center of the ring with him, with HIS WWE Championship belt draped over his shoulder. then they both embraced with tears streaming down their faces. they've finally done it, their dream of being on top of the WWE together was finally fulfilled. it was just awesome witnessing that 'cuz i know about their struggles, their history together. what they've had to overcome to reach the top of the business.

it's just strange to know that i'll never see Eddie wrestle live again, whether it'll be a live event or television. what sucks even more was that, it was speculated that he was to have another run with the title, but this time it would be the World Heavyweight Championship off Batista (who is injured). he was suppose to win it today on Friday Night Smackdown!

other thoughts. i don't know why i can never stay completely awake in my Educational Psychology class. today i was passing out so much, i barely wrote any notes. hahaha..& what makes it even more odd is that i'm completely awake for my Introduction to Human Sexuality class right after that class. it's in the same classroom. must be the prof man. there's something about her voice that puts me to sleep. i swear.

anyway, on Wednesday, i went to this thing called "Porn Nation" which was sponsored by Campus Crusades for Christ here in Waterloo. it was pretty interesting. the speaker was a former sex addict who was pretty much addicted to pornography ever since he was exposed to it as an 11yr old. he gave us the definition of pornography: it is anything that is presented in a way that it causes sexual arousal. so..if put that way, it seem that porn is EVERYWHERE, whether it's active or passive.

he told his story of how being a porn addict had ruined his life & how God helped him find happiness again & to give up his addiction. porn had ruin his life 'cuz it was kinda like drugs. he couldn't get enough of it, it was like a fix to him. so when he kept seeing images & stuff, he started to become used to it, therefore, it became boring, so he had to find a new way to stimulate himself. so, he made the fatal decision of beginning an affair with another woman while he was married. he was married with 2 sons when he got a divorce. but now, he has found God & has never been happier 'cuz God was able to forgive him for his mistakes & his past.

i'm glad that he was able to share his story with us. it takes a lot of courage to tell his story. & it was a benefit 'cuz pornography is a rarely talked about subject with anyone. this campaign was to raise awareness of the pornography problem in media today, as well, it cleverly tied in the work God had done on the speaker, as well as other speakers that were on video.

there was a follow-up event held today (Thursday) called Pure Freedom. but i wasn't able to attend that. i heard it was pretty good though.

also on Wednesday, i decided to reward myself for being such a diligent worker over the past week & a half. :P so i indulged myself at HMV. i wanted to get the 3/$30 deal, but i couldn't find a 3rd movie i wanted. my first 2 were What's Eating Gilbert Grape, & Zoolander. booo! i wanted to get those 2. :( but i ended up getting a 2/$30 deal for Underworld & Office Space. i also bought the new Bryan Adams Anthology cd & Nirvana: Sliver The Best of the Box. :D me happy camper.

well this weekend is Alpha Retreat at the infamous Westcourt. hahaha..yeah, it's at Westcourt. :P so that's Friday night after CCF until about 4pm Saturday afternoon. maybe meeting up with Angie, since she's in town for the Survival of the Fittest badminton tournament.

then on Sunday, i have 2 playoff games. 1 in ice hockey & 1 in volleball. they're back to back too at the CIF, so that's good. i don't have to go anywhere. :P just, probably gonna have to carry my equipment back home. boo!

i've been playing too much BurnOut 3. hahahahaaha..it's so much fun to trash other cars! "get out of the way bitch, get out of the way bitch, MOOOVE!" hahahaha :P excuse my language.

anyway, tonight i watched the DVD that came with the Bryan Adams cd. it was of his concert he did in Portugal. lots of good songs on it.
