A Cloudy Saturday

the day started at 9am, when i woke up to my alarm clock ringing. time to get up and start the day. so i trugged out of bed, put my feet on the floor, and sat up. it's a new day. a cloudy day. what will the new day bring me.

go to the bathroom, wash up, brush teeth, shower. the morning routine that i do half asleep. i always brush my teeth propped up on the counter leaning against the wall, with my eyes closed. just sleep for another 5-10mins more, while brushing. it can be done.

back to my room. time to pick out the clothes to wear today. do i want to dress to impress, or dress to....just dress. i pick, dress to just dress 'cuz i don't care about how i look, as long as i don't look like a slob. ;P capri pants, yellow baseball undershirt, and Erin Mills jersey it is, with white short socks, my green Erin Mills A's hat, and my old blue duffs. if i'm gonna wear my jersey, i wear my hat..it's gotta match. haha, but i didn't even notice that my glasses were green too until someone pointed it out. so..GQ yo!

anyway, 10am out the door. destination: Erindale Park. what for? it's MCBCSL Mideseason Event. but it was more a social gathering. this year i thought the turn out was pretty low. but in any case, it was still pretty good, despite the weather. played catch a little with Annie, Jeff Chan, Richard, Felix, and a dude i don't know. :S then i got tired of that, so i went back to the bbq area where a bunch of ppl were conversing. then i pulled out my camera, and Silas appointed me the head photographer of the day. D'OH! oh well, took some pictures. went to the park area, took more pictures. then went on the swings and saw how high i can go. man, swinging on swings is a workout. my abs were hurting after a while. :S i should do that more often. it's a workout! then i tried jumping off the swing. 3 times. so Vicki could get the picture. didn't really work that well, so we gave up. or i gave up 'cuz i was tired.

then it was time to eat. Achoo and Saved by the Bell got first dibs 'cuz we were the first game. ate at 11am. got a burger, then a hot dog. the drinks were in the form of 2L bottles poured into cups. i took the 2L bottles, BUT it was almost empty. i'm not that selfish. some ppl thought i was crazy. but there was nothing left yo! it's like a cup or two full! aaaaanyway, left Erindale Park at 12pm to go home and pick up my brother, who was still passed out when i got home.

12.15pm, leave for the game. got there at like 12.30pm. what do we find? the whole parking lot ripped up. nothing but dirt and rocks. it was really bumpy too. hahaha..it was fun..for us, maybe not for the van. luckily, the game hadn't started yet. but man, it was so humid out!

game underway. Achoo @ Saved by the Bell. we got off to a pretty slow start as Achoo took the early lead. but we were able to battle back inning by inning. it was a good game, not too many errors, at least, not many crucial errors. we were able to take it 10-5, but not without some casualties. ok no one died, but 2 of us got injured, me being one of them. the other was Kevin.

Kev got scrapped up pretty badly on his leg sliding into second, while i took a tumble in the outfield. Ben Mar hit a pretty solid one to left field, and i was playing him mid-leftfield. i had to run a pretty long way to get to it. i didn't make the catch though, it just skipped off the top of my glove, but as i was coming back down, i just stumbled and fell on my wrist pretty hard, hyperextending it (at least i hope that's what it is). after that, i just had a hard time just trying to get my legs back. i was just scrambling, losing balance with each and every step i took. must've been a funny thing to watch. but i finally got to the ball that was resting near the lamp post, and just launched it back into the infield towards third. luckily Ben only ended up with a triple, but i think he still managed to score. so the aftermath of that was a really really sore and weak left wrist, and a scrapped knee. the battle wounds of softball. i should've had it. i think if i just jumped or leaped or something, i could've had a chance. oh well, can't take it back now. it was a good solid hit, no doubt about that.

after that game we did devotions, and the theme was thinking before you do or say something. we looked at the passage where Judas betrayed Jesus, and where Jesus got arrested. the main area we looked at was what Simon Peter did, which was cut off someone's ear (i forget who it was, one of the guards or something Malchus?). we were asked, what would you do if you were in that situation? like your best friend is being arrested. would you have behaved the way Peter did? my input was that, i think i would've asked what he was being arrested for before i decided on my course of action.

after devotions, i had time to kill before i umped the last game of the day. so i just watched the middle game between Cworkz and Sparks. Sparks took that game 7-3. Cworkz had one bad inning where they let in 5 runs, which really killed them. i didn't see it though. i had Sarah taking pictures for me. :P i wonder how they turned out, i haven't looked at them yet.

i found out that i would be umping the last game between Cworkz and Swiffer by myself. :S booo, i tried to look for a partner to help me out, but no avail. but then Wilson came and told me that he could help out, even though he had already umped the previous 2 games! he's a hardcore ump! i wonder if he's doing any of the games tomorrow! *ponders*..i guess we'll see right? or i can check the email, but i'm lazy. i just wanna finish this blog.

anyway, the Cworkz and Swiffer went on without a hitch. we implemented a hurry up transfer for the game so that we could get it in before the storm would come. the clouds were out and it was getting pretty dark out there. it was a close game throughout, but i noticed that Cworkz made a lot of crucial errors, especially in the bottom of the last inning.

Silas led off the inning with a shot to centerfield where Phil fielded it. he tired to gun Silas out, but it went off Odie's glove and into the dugout. free bag for Silas, he gets second base. next 2 batters manage to move him to 3rd base, and then the 3rd batter with 2 outs hits it down to third were Jeff Tram fields it and decides to throw home to try and get Silas out. but Silas was able to beat the throw by a step. very close call. Swiffer wins. good game.

we had to cut the game short too, to 6 innings instead of the usual 7 innings because we saw lightning. and a good thing we called it after 6 'cuz the thunder and lightning got pretty bad after and the rain started to come down.

Steve gave me a lift home since my brother needed to go home early 'cuz he had to work, and i showered. even fitted in a nap there before dinner. had dinner with the family. Swiss Chalet..again. but it was good. and after dinner, i iced my wrist. it was so bloody cold and it hurt me even more because of the weight of the icepack. right now, my wrist just hurts when i have a closed fist, or if i have my fingers stretched out. can't bend it backwards either without it hurting. this sucks. battle wounds i tell ya.

8pm, had my mom wrap up my wrist before i went to play roller hockey. put on some patch, and then the wrap around it.

8.30pm. leave for roller hockey. yeah i still went to play. i wanted to see if i could still play a little. it was a little painful, but i still didn't play up to how i would normally play, i was more careful and played less hard. all in all it was a good workout too. never sweated so much in my life. it was so hot in the arena, no air conditioning, no fan in sight. just a bunch of guys playing hockey. i got through it. called it quits when it hit 10.30pm 'cuz i wanted to rest my wrist.

went to a nearby Mac's afterwards to get slushies to drink. Jeff, Ben, Andre, Steve, and i all went. we were dying of thirst. i got a Pepsi slushie! it was so yummy and just what i needed. we all needed it. it was thirst quenching and cold! then we headed over to the nearby Burger King and loitered outside on the benches. haha..even security came out to check up on us. seeing what we were up to. haha..do we look mischievious?! so yeah, we had a pretty good group talks, just talking about all sorts of things from biking, road trips, bad drivers, and softball. it was cool.

then it was finally home time. ahhh, came home and had a nice shower..3rd shower of the day! and just sat down and talked to some ppl on ICQ and MSN while typing up this long blog about my day. after this i'm hitting the sack.

which would be now.

that was my Saturday. so far so good, aside from the injury.

tomorrow, what's on the agenda. church (brother had his group meeting cancelled), so now i can see Sylvia! yay! then back home so my mom can use the van to pick up the suckling pig they ordered for their highschool reunion party. then i need to go to the softball diamond later to pick up Betty and Gabe so we can head up to Markham to pick up Lorna. then off to a restaurant for dinner, and then afterwards we discuss about the WCRI stuff.

packed day tomorrow! i should go to sleep early too.

g'nite y'all!
