Toronto Fans Are Brutal

i swear, Toronto fans are probably one of the most brutal fans you can have. i don't speak about all the fans, but just the ones that like to make a big deal over nothing.

i have 4 examples. first one is currently happening in Major League Baseball. for those baseball fans out there, we know that Carlos Delgado's 4-year $64M deal is up, and he's a free agent now. in all likelihood, Delgado's probably playing for another team next season. the Blue Jays simply cannot retain him with the payroll and budget they have. sure ppl can take sides with management or Delgado, but i think i'm siding with Delgado on this one. i read the forums on this issue on TSN.ca and i'm amazed at how many fans are taking shots at this guy. so he wants to leave for a contender, so what? LET HIM! it's his choice where he wants to play. he's not selling out! the Jays simply can't afford him period! he has earned his right for a higher salary, and his talents and numbers back that up. his career's at its peak, he's in his prime. let him go for a championship. he's done enough for the Jays, and it's time for him to move on. Delgado's a class act. he's not making any promises, and he wants to see what kind of offers he can get.

right now he's being courted by the Baltimore Orioles and Seattle Mariners. the M's aren't playing great, but they have a great fan base, much better than the Jays. the Orioles, they're starting to build a contending team, all they need is pitching. Delgado would fit in nicely with the Orioles (seems as if all the ex-Jays somehow play for the Orioles), with Rafael Palmeiro moving from 1B to DH. the O's already have a pretty good core of players too, with Javy Lopez, Melvin Mora, and Miguel Tejada.

in the NBA, it's Tracy McGrady and Vince Carter, two distant cousins. i'll talk about T-Mac first. T-Mac, fans of the Raptors have the right to boo him like crazy. he left us hanging, and said that he'd come back before selling out to the Orlando Magic. at the time, yeah that was pretty brutal, a lot of ppl weren't happy that he just bolted like that. he totally sold us out. but in hindsight, i can see why he did it. he'd end up in Carter's shadow as long as he stayed in Toronto, so he left to be a star with the Magic and he did great there, winning 2 scoring titles, although the Magic like never made it far in the playoffs if they even made it. so yeah, Raptor fans, get over it! it's been 4yrs, let it go! he plays for the Rockets now! let the Magic fans be mad at him now. :P

Vince Carter as all Raptor fans know, demanded a trade in the summer, and he's getting hell for it. can you blame him tho? the Raptors haven't done anything in the last couple years really. they always said they needed a big body, but never tried to get one, except for in the drafts. but still! surely the Raptors could be better off without Carter, but no one wants him! hahaha..it's only 'cuz he half-asses when he plays. well that's my opinion. he plays when he wants to play. i honestly don't care if the Raptors trade him or not. he's overrated in my opinion.

NHL. what can i say. the Maple Leafs always get burned by the media. if the Leafs are losing, they blame the captain, the coach, and the goaltender. if they're winning, they praise 'em. it's so lopsided.

it's funny how everyone "knows" what's best for the team, but really they probably don't know what they're talking about. they just like to lash out at a certain someone and just place blame on them. they just think of quick fixes and voice that the team should trade the "crap" players for one good player. it's such garbage! that's so like..video game type trading. sports is a team game, they win as a team and they lose as a team.

anyway, aside from all that stupid fan crap, tonight was Lifesong. i just got home from a long night. a few ppl came up from Mississauga/Oakville to watch the show. i hope they enjoyed it. Lifesong, to honestly say wasn't at its best, but it wasn't bad either. i'd probably give it a 7 out of 10. it was good. it was a story of two ppl who gave their testimonial and how they came to seek God. the stories were well told in the form of a play and how they parallel and intersect at the end. it was pretty neat.

after the play was over, everyone went outside of the theatre to mingle like we normally do after any fellowship and a bunch of us went for some bubbletea. bubbletea was a night of relentless teasing, and a hot bubbletea waitress! y'all who was there know what i'm talking about! :P she was FINE! ;P haha!!!

we were gonna play hockey a little later on in the night, but things just got all mixed up and it ended up being cancelled. in a way, it was good 'cuz it was pretty cold out too, and i dunno if there would've been a lot of ppl there, but on the other hand, some ppl were disappointed as well. there hasn't been much Friday night street hockey this term, but it didn't really matter to me 'cuz i've been normally busy with other things.

speaking of getting busy, i should get started on some studying. i've got 2 tests coming up, one on Monday and one on Tuesday. so i better get crackin'!

adios amigo!!

Fact File

Hank McCoy not only possesses superhuman abilities - he's also a world-renowned biochemist. as an X-Man, the blue-furred Beast has dedicated his physical gifts and scientific genius to the creation of a better world for man and mutant!

Beast's Powers
besides superhuman strength, speed and agility, the Beast boasts the acrobatic prowess of an accomplished circus aerialist and acrobat.

Beast's Beginnings
Henry McCoy's mutant powers were likely caused by his father's exposure to radiation during an accident at the nuclear power plant where he worked. when the telepath Charles Xavier learned of Hank's existence, he invited him to enroll in his School for Gifted Youngsters. under Xavier's tutelage, Hank assumed the nom de guerre "Beast"

Beast's History
after graduation, Hank was working as a genetic researcher when he isolated a chemical that triggered mutation. Hank tested the serum on himself, with unintended results. the experiment caused him to grow fur, enlarged his canine teeth and amplified his already stellar athletic abilities. by remaining too long in this state, he discovered he could not return to his former appearance. at first, he tried to hide his mutation. later, he learned to accept his more beast-like form.

the Beast's greatest accomplishment has been to eradicate the mutant plague known as the Legacy Virus. unfortunately, he was unable to discover a means of administering the cure without emulating the manner in which it first had been discharged - through the death of an infected mutant. though the Beast was resigned to pursue a more benign antidote, the panacea would proceed without his direction. Colossus, distraught over the loss of his sister to the virus, administered the serum to himself. the Beast had saved the world, but the cost was the life of his good friend and teammate.

Infamous Quote
i've been getting shot at since my old man used to come home drunk and take potshots at me when i was sleeping in my crib.

Beast's Mortal Enemies

Beast's Loyal Alliances
