Seekers: Game Six: 4-2 W
we were pretty short-benched for the game, we had 2 forward lines, and 1.5 defense pairings. so we were pretty tired by the end of the game. it was a good game nonetheless, tho the other team probably could've beaten us if they passed a little more. but a win is a win, this is our first legit win this season, no offense to the all-girls team and the girls out there. we were short-benched because most of the players were getting ready for LifeSong tomorrow night. more on that a little later in the post.
superstar Gabe had a hat-trick for us, tho the last goal was garbage! haha..it was garbage because Ian shot it from the point, went off a defenseman's butt (?!) and deflected off Gabe's pants and into the net. haha he was just at the right place at the right time! haha! Ian had our other goal. tonight, Gabe, Adam, and i played on one line, we had 7 points in between us. Gabe with 3 goals, and Adam and i with 2 assists each.
i had some pretty good chances too, actually the team had a lot of odd-man rushes, but we couldn't capitalize. we were leading 3-0 after one period, and they caught up in the 2nd period making it 3-2. in the 3rd we were pretty much duking it out, but we were able to get an ugly insurance goal! haha..but we'll take it. the other team had a lot of good chances in the final minute, but our replacement goalie was playing great. he pretty much kept us in the game.
i dunno how many points Gabe has, but i know for sure he's leading the team in points. i dunno who's in second on the team in points, i've lost track. i know i have 3g, 2a for 5 points in 4 games.
i'm looking forward to next term's team. lots of ppl from the summer team are coming back. i dunno how well they play on ice, but i know most of them are pretty good at roller hockey. but ice hockey is a totally different game i think. it's much faster, and more team oriented. plus, we don't have to worry about players on feet! :P
ok, so LifeSong. what is it? well i'll just write in what it says on the card.
Lifesong is a term-ual event hosted by UW Chinese Christian Fellowship to reach out to Christian and non-Christian students alike. This term, through the testimonies of one who had a difficult path and another who had a smoother path, we share about how God works in our lives and how He is "All Things to All People."
Lifesong is being held at Humanties Theatre in Hagey Hall on Friday, November 5, 2004 at 7.00pm. Come join us and share in a night of free drama, music, testimonies, and messages for everyone.
so come out to Lifesong y'all! :)
anyway, on to other things. lots of TV notes actually! lol.
first off, Jeopardy! Ken Jennings is tearing it up man. as of today, or what he has already done, he's won 67 consecutive shows and has earned a little over $2.2M. that's craaazy! all on one game show! that's actually a new record, beat some Dr. that played on Who Wants To Be A Millionaire. hmm..he's actually suppose to lose on his 76th show i think, with close to $2.5M in winnings. that's sick. he's just a software engineer from Salt Lake City! hmm..i wonder what day he's gonna lose..i'm too lazy to figure it out. lol!
ok next, can anyone fill me in on The O.C.?? i watched the season premiere today (i think it was?!) and i dunno what the heck is going on! who's with who?? what happened last season? dah rich bastards!
anyway, add Mischa Barton to THAT list! ;P in that bikini! hahaha!! OW OW! and i dont' care if she went crazy in that episode and flipped a lawnchair into the pool and threw an endtable!! hahaha!! ;P that was hot! HHAHAAH!
next show. CSI is very cleverly written. it's a great show! why didn't i watch it sooner? tonight episode was really good!
ok, now onto, ER..i only watched half of it since i had to play hockey. it's kinda interesting. the show has a lot of familiar faces, like Parminder from Bend It Like Beckham, show veteran Noah Wylie (who i think is leaving after this season), that Phifer dude from 8 Mile, and Shane West from A Walk To Remember.
soooo..anyway..i'm pretty tired. i should get some reading done before i call it a night.
here's today's Marvel SuperVillian!

Dr. Doom's Powers
Dr. Doom possesses the ability, though not often used, to switch minds with others. also, he commands a small amount of mystical knowledge.
Dr. Doom's Weapons
Dr. Doom has amassed a seemingly endless arsenal of high-tech weaponry. at the very least, his armor incorporates a forcefield and concussion beams.
Dr. Doom's Beginnings
Victor Von Doom was raised by gypsies in the small European country of Latveria. always a bright child, he later earned a full college scholarship. at State University, Doom met Reed Richards and Ben Grimm - one-half of the future Fantastic Four. Richards, especially, represented a threat to Doom's inflated ego, and the two scientists became bitter rivals. Doom's downfall, however, proved to be his vanity, which kept him from adjusting the schematics to one of his inventions. as a result, Doom experienced an explosion that would scar his face for life.
Dr. Doom's History
expelled from school, Dr. Doom traveled the world swathed in bandages - searching for a miracle cure. eventually, Doom discovered a village of Tibetan monks who crafted him a suit of armor that concealed his deformity. he then returned to Latveria, overthrowing the standing government and crowning himself king. ruling with an iron fist, Doom began to redirect the small nation's resources to help him realize his designs of world domination.
when the Fantastic Four returned from the alternate Earth to which they had been shunted following their confrontation with Onslaught, Dr. Doom remained and conquered that planet, dubbing it "Planet Doom." despite repeated attempts through the years, Doom has been unable to defeat Reed Richards. he has, however, come close on several occasions - even scoring several psychological victories.
Dr. Doom's Mortal Enemies
Doom's life has been shaped by several objectives, the utmost being the destruction of his hated rival, Reed Richards, of the Fantastic Four.
Dr. Doom's Loyal Alliances
when attempting to wrest his mother's spirit from Mephisto, Dr. Doom was able to enlist the help and support of Dr. Strange.
Fast Fact
Dr. Doom always blamed Reed Richards for his disfiguring accident. it was easier for Doom to believe that Richards had sabotaged his work out of jealousy than to admit to his own imperfection.
