I MISSED My Exam..

but this is how the story unfolds.... *play dramatic music here!*

alright, so yesterday, i was studying pretty much the whole day, well when i was awake anyway. actually that's a lie. i woke up at 1pm-ish, and watched football, while attempting to study until 4pm-ish. the New York Jets were playing the Buffalo Bills. Bills won for those who wanted to know. anyway, so yeah, i left to go to the Student Life Centre (SLC) at about 5pm-ish. i elected to skip on dinner because i was planning on going to this farewell get together for Jackson, so i could eat there instead. more on Jackson's farewell later. so yeah, i got home from that at around 11.30pm-ish. i studied some more until 4am-ish. i didn't go to sleep until close to 5am.

WELL that just bit my ass now didn't it? i set my alarm clocks (yes i have 2) for 9.30am and 9.45am. y'know in case i didn't hear 'em. but NOOOOOOO..they went off and i didn't even HEAR them! like what the heck man?? i woke up at 1pm! *BLINKBLINK*..WHAT? ONE IN THE AFTERNOON?! yes, i looked at my watch TWICE, and then got out of bed and started cussin' like tomorrow. so yeah, i missed my 11.30am exam.

i was soooo pissed! thank goodness for that stupid nightmare i was having! for some reason, i went to some weird figure skating show, and yeah, woke up from that. i couldn't believe it! 1pm man. so, yeah after i calmed down, i called my prof. she's so nice!
p: "LeAnn Ferries"
b: "Hi, Ms. Ferries. This is Benson, I'm in your REC 205 class, and I missed the test this morning because I just woke up! Is there any way that I could possibly write it later today?"
p: "Oh, well, I'm quite busy today with teaching, but I could try to arrange something, do you have a contact number that I could call in 10mins?"
b: "Oh, uh..actually, I have to go down in about 10mins to do chores for my building!"
p: "Oh, ok. how about you call me back in about 5 minutes then?"
b: "Ok, that would be great! Thanks!"
- 5 minutes later -
p: "LeAnn Ferries"
b: "Hi, Ms. Ferries. It's Benson."
p: "Hi Benson, yes, I was able to arrange for a supervisor to supervise your test. Are you available at 3pm?"
b: "Yes, that would be good!"
p: "Alright, good. The TA's name is Linda Caisse, she'll be in BMH room 2219. She will be supervising the test for me."
b: "Great! Thank you so much!!"
p: "You're welcome! Bye!"
b: "Bye!"
that conversation wasn't entirely accurate, but that's the jist of it! she great or what? and she worked around MY schedule! haha, i felt like i sounded like an ass on the phone or maybe i was trying to sound like i was trying to get sympathy? hahah i dunno. i hate talking on the phone! leave me alone!! haha but yeah! she was letting me write it! haha even some of my friends where shocked and laughed at me 'cuz of the lamest excuse i had was that i slept-in, even tho that was the truth! but yeah! THANK GOD!

so yeah, after that call, i rushed downstairs to do my chore. i tried to do it as fast as i could, but it still took me an hour. grr! that left me with like maybe 20-30mins to cram in the review i had, change, and run to the school. when i got there, it took me like 2-3 minutes looking for the office, that building is confusing too, and it was the first time i've ever set foot in that building. but yeah, i eventually found her office, only to see on the note that she was in another room! hahah..so it took me another minute to find that room too! but yeah, i eventually found her, and wrote it. i think the test was ok. hopefully i did good enough.

yesterday was Jackson's farewell party. we all met up at Mikey's at around 8.30pm. i was already at the SLC, and some of the guys had a prayer meeting there, so i went with them to take a "study break" and say farewell to Jackson. he's a pretty cool guy, i think i may have met him prior to this year, but only on a "meet-thru-another-person" basis. i met him this year from the hockey team so i got to know a little bit more about him. he's a funny guy and he's been in Waterloo since forever! lol! but he's super smart 'cuz who stays here and gets 2 degrees and is like on his 3rd? but yeah, his message of the night was "it is bad for Man to be alone" he quoted the Bible! lol..it was hilarious! just the way he said it and who he was like looking at! hahaha so yeah, it was good. :) fun!

welp, i got a night and a day of studying ahead! next test is tomorrow night! wooppeee! after that no more tests until finals, and 3 assignments! YAAAAAY. the term's almost over..ALREADY! yowsers!

Fact File

Ororo Munroe has developed the power to command the forces of nature - and once was worshipped as a goddess in Africa for that very reason. as a member of the X-Men, she wields her unique genetic gifts to protect a world that hates and fears mutants!

Storm's Powers
Storm is a mutant with the ability to manipulate weather. she can stimulate any form of precipitation, generate winds in varying degrees of intensity, raise or lower the humidity and temperature in her immediate vicinity, induce lightning and other electrical atmospheric phenomena and disperse natural storms.

Storm's Beginnings
Storm is descended from an ancient line of African pristesses, all with the potential to wield magic. when Ororo was six months old, she and her parents moved to Egypt. five years later, a bomb destroyed their home. Ororo's parents were killed, but she survived, buried under rubble (and this is the reason why she is claustophobic!). homeless and orphaned, she came under the tutelage of master thief Achmed el-Gibar. Ororo soon became his prize pupil.

Storm's History
as a young woman, Ororo journeyed alone across the Sahara Desert, finally reaching her ancestors' homeland - the Serengeti Plain. by this time, her mutant ability to manipulate the weather had emerged; she used it to aid the local tribes who then worshipped her as a deity. Ororo played goddess for several years - until Professor Charles Xavier recruited her to help rescue the X-Men from the island-being known as Krakoa.

Ororo became leader of the Morlocks when she fought Callisto who had defeated her in combat. despite her efforts, the majority of the Morlocks were slaughtered by the Marauders. news of the massacre sent Storm reeling - she blamed herself for not being there during their time of need. after that, Storm left the X-Mansion to lead a team of mutants in search of the diaries of Destiny, which map out human history.

Storm and the X-Men
hated and feared for her strange and frightening powers - not worshipped, as she had been in Africa - Ororo joined Professor X and the X-Men. except for brief periods away from the team, she has remained an X-Man ever since - even enduring the temporary loss of her mutant abilities to lead the Children of the Atom into battle.

Storm's Mortal Enemies
the Marauders, a team of superhuman assassins employed by the mysterious Mr. Sinister, earned Storm's unspeakable disdain upon their slaughter of the Morlocks.

Storm's Loyal Alliances
for one time, Storm's loyalties were dvided between the X-Men and the underground community of mutants known as the Morlocks (how many more times are we gonna hear this? MorlocksMorlocksMorlocks! we GOT IT!)

Fast Fact
when Storm temporarily lost the use of her mutant abilities, Nightcrawler was designated leader of the X-Men (what? no Morlocks?)
