Amazement/Wonderment
this morning's class went by relatively fast today. it felt like we just sat down when the prof told us that it was the last point she'll make for the day. Betty and i were like..wha..already? haha..i wish all classes were like that! :D
anyway, headed over to SLC for lunch as per usual, and met up with Eric there as well, like usual. then at 1pm we headed over to the PAC to watch some volleyball games! it was the Waterloo Invitational Tournament that was hosted by the Women's Volleyball team. we didn't watch the whole match, but we saw one game and a bit. they lost the first game and was winning the 2nd game when we were there. it's pretty impressive i must say. i wonder how much faster the Men's game is.
we left volleyball to climb a tree by Conrad Grebel College! it was quite a climb. i only made it to like the 2nd branch 'cuz i wasn't too trusting of my shoes. lol. the soles are almost gone, so i was lucky to even get that high. plus, i was a little scared since i'm a bit hurt, and i don't want to fall down and break something. but it was fun watching the other guys climb. we all got down safely. :D
i was suppose to play Ben today in squash, but i decided to call it off to rest my groin. i think it was a good call. i woke up today and it felt much better than yesterday. so that's a good thing. i prayed to God to heal me, and i guess he did a bit of it last night! :D
on a totally different note, when i walk home from classes, or when my day is over during work hours, i always see these two ladies that work at East Campus Hall on breaks. sometimes i wonder if they ever really work. but i never knew what the purpose of the campus was anyway. it's just one building infront of WCRI. *shrugs* couldn't give a rat's ass anyway! :)
i'm also following Ichiro Suzuki. for those who don't know who he is, he's 30yr old baseball player from Kasugai, Japan that plays right field for the Seattle Mariners. 3yrs ago, he left his Japanese League team, Orix Blue Waves, to come to the Major Leagues. he became the first position player to come over from Japan and he's one of the most pure hitters in the Major Leagues. and not only that, he has one of the best arms in the league too. he's simply awesome! i wish i could play like him. that same year, he also won the Rookie of the Year Award AND the MVP Award. that's awesome! you can find out more about this amazing player here.
anyway, Ichiro's on the verge of breaking George Sisler's 84yr old single season record for hits and i think that's totally amazing! the record is 257 hits. Ichiro currently has 256 hits and he has 3 games left. i believe he'll do it. i have faith. ever since he came into the league, he's been ripping up opposing pitchers with base hits. you can read more about this historic record chase here.
anyway, maybe i'll write about Ichiro or the Expos' move to Washington D.C. for my Sociology of Sport newspaper assignment. :D
