F2006 Seekers - Games 6 & 7 - Playoff Game 1
So I've been back from Mexico since Saturday now. Where's the "what did you do in Mexico" entry? Well, it's coming. Be patient and you will be rewarded....with a post about what I did in Mexico, AND maybe a few pictures. :P
Anyway, as per post title. Seekers hockey. That is what this post is about. Sorry to disappoint those Mexico fans, but hockey will be the first thing I talk about...right now.
Game 6: 3-2L
So I heard that we blew a 2-0 lead in the 3rd period. That's it. Lol! Oh wells. That just means that we get to play Chasers in the first round of playoffs instead of the rival C-Cups. Boo..I would've loved to rip up the C-Cups.
So yeah, not much to comment about Game 6 since I was in Mexico..reinjuring my ankle. That'll be a story for..the Mexico post. OoooO :P
Game 7: 2-0W
This game was a freebie and meant nothing. It was the SOC game, which is awarded to teams that have the best SOC score at the end of the season. SOC is spirit of competition. Lame, but whatever. :) It's just all about sportsmanship.
Anyway, the game was against the Puck Bunnies. No one really tried..at least none of the guys really. I think the goals we scored were flukes, trying to set up, but they went in anyway. I didn't see Jackal's goal, but I saw Steve's his was a pass through the goal mouth and it just deflected off a defender's stick and into the net. I was ready for the one-timer though if it made it all the way through to me.
Anyway..I don't really have much to say about this game. I played defense and forward if I recall correctly. Meh!
Haha, and I came back from Mexico on Saturday. Arrived at the airport at 3pm, left the airport at about 4.30pm, left for Waterloo at about 5.30pm, and made it in for the game at 7pm. I was a little late for the game, but who cares! :P HOCKEY!
Playoff Game 1: 5-1L
Yeah, this was a blow out. Chasers just lit us up. I got a little frustrated when I shouldn't have and I apologize to my friends that I snapped at. Heat of the moment, and it's a playoff game, I can get competitive. I wasn't ready for the season to end so early. But it did, it's in the books, season's over, and hopefully the Chasers can bring home the championship for CCF. :)
The game got physical towards the end with Jackal laying a check on Chris. Suffice to say, Jackal got a penalty since it's a non-contact league. I should've got penalties too for some accidental infractions. I accidentally slashed Marty on the wrist trying to slow him down. And I ran into Wayne from behind 'cuz I couldn't stop in time.
Our goal was a fluky one, but it was funny. Ken got the goal, and I think I got the assist, so I'll just say I got the assist in my stats. :P But anyway, I was infront of the net with a defender draped all over me, don't even know who it was, Ken takes a real weak shot that didn't even leave the ice and it was so slow hahaha..but all I did was lift the defender's stick and my leg and let it slide by. Elliot didn't even see it since he didn't even react, and it just slides right past him. It was kinda funny. But it was our only goal, and we needed a lot more obviously.
So that was the end of the 2006 season, and that was possibly my last hockey game in Waterloo. But who knows, this old geezer could make a comeback. But there are a lot of factors that play into not playing which can be used for next term as well.
See, I COULD play next term, but gotta factor in the fact that it's winter, the drive is more dangerous. Parents aren't that happy that I go up to Waterloo so often, it's about 100kms away, so mileage adds up on my car, which already has a high mileage on it. Probably wouldn't have a steady place to stay every weekend. I was blessed this term to have Vanessa and Sara open up their place for me to stay. Thank you.
But yeah..all in all, it was a fun and challenging season Seekers! Good luck in the future!
