F2006 Seekers - Game 5: 4-2 W

Here's another post-game recap from, none other than me, yours truly! :P (I haven't wrote a "real" post in a while, whatever that means)

Finally, another one in the wins column. :D This game was a relatively easy one for us, in my opinion anyway. They were weak defensively and the score was only this close because their goalie kept their team in the game for them. But he was a hacker, I'll explain this as the recap rolls along.

So yeah, we played a pretty weak team, which is..nice for a change I guess, but they still had their good scoring chances. We, ourselves, had a lot of good scoring chances as well. For myself, I think I may have had the most chances on our team since "it seemed like [I] was on a breakway every other minute [I was] on the ice."

I think the highlight of the game where everyone so fondly remembered was the "bodycheck". You see, there is a little girl on our team by the name of Sara, and it just so happens that it's her birthday on this day as well. Cool, our goal was to get her to score a goal for her birthday (which didn't happen, but she had some good chances!). On this one particular play, we were in our defensive zone, taking turns entering and exiting that zone and the neutral zone. There was a turnover, so I turned and then Sara's right there, kinda sandwiched between two opposing players and I had no where to go. I ran right into her and knocked her over! :S I had my arms open as to catch her, but she bounced right off me! LOL..yes this is my account. So, I kinda tried to help her up, but she wasn't getting up and I had to defend my goal, so I just...left. HAHA..sorry! Turnover, and next thing I know is I'm on a breakaway (first of many), the goalie decides to pokecheck me and he's all sprawled on the ice, I was able to avoid the pokecheck and managed to score, though I didn't even see the puck go into the net because I was too busy trying to avoid the goalie, which I didn't and my legs hit him square on the facemask, and I just went flying. Stick went flying, legs went flying, body went flying. Apparently I kinda looked like a C in the air with my legs above my head when I went crashing to the ice.

So, yes, the "bodycheck" kinda led to this goal. :P On Sara's account though, she said that I was pushing her down when I was trying to help her up. PSH! :P She's just saying that because she thinks I hate her.

Anyway, other goal scorers in the game was Ken (game winner) and Steve. I added the 4th goal as well. As a team, we played pretty well, passing was a lot better than from last game, and overall better defensive effort. It was a good game. :)

I had so many good chances that game, two of which I should've put away. On one play, the puck was shot pretty hard that it came off the back boards, but I wasn't quick enough to stuff it in as the goalie kicked my shot away at the side of the net. :( Another one was when I was on yet another breakaway, completely faked out the goalie only to have the puck hit the opposite post. UUUUUUGH! :P Oh wells, it was fun nonetheless.

MELINDA (happy guys? I got her name right this time! I'll correct the previous post soon!), our goalie for the second straight game played pretty solid in our net. She robbed a guy on a clear breakaway near the end of the game to prevent it from being a one-goal game.

Another thing is, for some reason, the other team had something against Kevin Chan. Everytime he was on the ice, he'd have one or two opposing players draped all over him trying to bring him down! Hahaha, it was quite amusing. :P

But in the end, we WON! And hopefully the team will be able to finish the season on a winning note. I wish I could play, technically, I think I can, but I dunno. We'll have to see.

Summary of stats:
Team:
2-3 (W-L)
16 goals for, 19 goals against

B:
6 goals, 3 assists, 1 powerplay assist, +1 rating

So aside from hockey, this weekend was pretty..interesting. A good learning experience I think and a lot of things to think and pray about. I won't be getting into too much detail because well, I don't want to share. :) So please respect that.

The weekend itself was fun aside from all the "drama" so to say, The Prestige was pretty good flick to see. A real thinker movie and at the end you're just kinda like..OOOOH..it's all about end-of-movie revelations. Those are the types of movies I love.

Was suppose to go bowling on the weekend too, but that didn't happen 'cuz the lineup was actually too long. :S But good thing The Prestige was there as a backup, and I guess it was a good thing it was sold out on Friday night when we were suppose to see it then.

Sunday was Sara's birthday and it was good. I hope she enjoyed her day, despite the bodycheck, which counted as 2 birthday beats. She's got the bruise to have proof of the check.

Anyway, yes, I'm home sick today, so don't be decieved by the time of the post. I am suppose to be at work today, but..called in sick today.

Mexico on Saturday...I can't believe my sister's getting married a week tomorrow! That's insaaaaaaane! Where did all the time go man?! It's her wedding day already!
