F2006 Seekers - Game 1: 6-1 W
Alright, I'm pretty behind in my updates. So let's turn back the clock.
2 weekends ago was pretty fun. I had a good time in Waterloo. :)
Lifesong was alright, I actually arrived just as it was starting, so good timing. Didn't get into Waterloo until about 7.15pm, so not that bad. Saw a fresh accident too on the 401 while on the way.
Lifesong itself had a very unique presentation. I really liked the idea of the comic book format, as it was simple to follow. But it sucked that it was dampened with some technical difficulties. But nonetheless, the drama portion of the night was cool.
Didn't sleep until about 2am that night and had to wake up at around 6.15am Saturday morning for hockey practice at 7am for a 3hr practice 7-10am.
So the practice we scrimmaged for most of it, the other times we were just screwing around really. After the practice a bunch of us went out for some brunch at this place call Anna Mae's near noon time. The place is like..in the middle of nowhere..past Perth or something I think. The food there was alright, had 3 pieces of chicken, mixed veggies, fries and a Pepsi.
Got back to my friends place after that and passed out for about an hour or two. Needed the nap. Then for the rest of the afternoon and evening it was spent doing work or at least trying to. Then later on, we went to see Superman Returns at the SLC.
Sunday was church at CFC, wasn't into it 'cuz it was the same msg that was given by the speaker at Lifesong. The speaker at Lifesong just happens to be the Pastor at the church I go to in Waterloo. So yeah...oh wells.
So, back to friend's place for lunch and then do more work. Passssed out while reading. Napped for about an hour or so! And then we left a little early to CIF so we could catch a bit of the CCF Chasers' hockey game, which was right before our Seekers hockey game. Both our teams won our first games. I think they won 5-2 and we won 6-1 (against different teams).
So for some of you readers, this is your brief recap you've been waiting for, I can't remember everything, but this is just the gist of it. We played a team called the Puck Bunnies, a team that is consisted of all girls. So that means that, most of us "good" players on the team weren't shooting the puck much. I only had 2 shots on net (one good, one bad) for the whole game. I was feeding the puck to my linemates, Vanessa and Sara more. Both Vanessa and Sara had good chances, but only Vanessa was able to capitalize, not once, but twice. She's our leading goal-scorer after one game! WOOOOOW! SUPERSTAR! These goals were were her first ever goals, so she was pretty excited lol. Got the assists on both goals. Our line finished with a +2 rating. :P
As for other highlights of the game, Mike Chan, Bryan Fung, Steve Wong, and one other player scored goals for us. Jackal shot the puck a lot in the first period, but to no avail, he couldn't score. Out of so many shots, he only hit the net like twice. After that he toned the shots down a bit. On my only good shot on net, I ringed it off the crossbar. At first, I thought it went in because the sound of the post sounded different and I thought I hit the inside crossbar, but I guess I didn't.
After the game, went out for dinner before heading back to Mississauga, and yeah..that was my weekend!
The week (Mon-Fri) was pretty boring. Nothing really interesting to say except that I had to write a paper for my Evil DE course that was due on Wednesday night. So I did that and handed it in right at 11.59pm. And on Friday, my manager told me to go home at 3.30pm. HAHAHAA..sweet! We normally get to leave work early on the Friday before a long weekend.
This Thanksgiving weekend was pretty packed. I had lots of fun, and definately lots to be thankful for. :)
Friday night, met up with Vanessa and Sara at Square One and had dinner with them at Jack Astor's. Originally we were going to go to Sam Woo's, but that place was PACKED, but go figure, it's a Friday night before a long weekend and it's Mid-Autumn Moon Festival weekend. So we ate. The waiter jokingly, or not, called the girls cheap for ordering water when I ordered a Coke. HAHAHA..but anyway...
After dinner, headed over to Coliseum to watch The Departed. Most of you guys probably know that it's the Hollywood version of Infernal Affairs, part one of a hit Hong Kong trilogy about good cops and bad cops.
Saturday was the first annual (or not) volleyball tournament at MCBC. My team, Pink Panthers, was knocked out in the semi-finals by my brother's team, Just Win Baby (who lost to the Woodpeckers in the finals). Woodpeckers were really good. Our team went 2-0 in the round robin, beating Ivy and Six-Pack, and and won our quarter-final game against Team Extreme. It was a pretty good turn out.
After we were knocked out, I met up with Vanessa, Sara, Kevin, and two people, Josh and Tiffany at the Eaton Centre. We dropped off Josh and Tiffany back at UT campus, and Sara headed off for dinner with her friends, while Vanessa, Kevin, and I went to look for a place to eat as well. We ended up at this noodle place along Bloor, forget what it was called, but it was pretty tasteful. But then again, I was able to build my own meal. :P
Dinner was over, and we picked up Sara, who was just a couple restaurants down from us, and head back to Kipling where I parked. Then off to Waterloo, trying to make it back by 10pm to catch the Oilers/Flames game. We did. Just in the nick of time. WooT! :) It was a good game, and as always, I was rooting for my fantasy players to get me some points! :P
Sunday, went to KWCAC instead of CFC to save a bit of time since we (Vanessa, Sara, Kevin, Shaun, and I) planned on playing some badminton at the PAC after church. So we did that, it was fun. Played some doubles and singles matches, played some HORSE..and a self-game of 21. hahaha.. :P
Left for home at 2.45pm. Man, the drive home was a struggle at the end of the drive. Was struggling so hard to keep my eyes open, but I thank God for pulling me through. It got scary at some points. I just gotta learn to sleep a little earlier on Saturday nights, but Saturday night I didn't really have much choice. :)
Went to my sister's fiance's place because they invited us (the kids) over for Thanksgiving dinner (since my parents are out of town). It was very tasty, wow, I'm so full still.
So now I'm here. And now I'm done talking.
