Where'd All The Time Go?
It looks as if I'm updating weekly now. I guess I just really don't have much, or have time to write blogs during the weeks now. Or maybe I'm just lazy. OR I'm just trying to keep away from the computer more often now.
But anyway....
It was a pretty busy week. So I'll try to keep this short and sweet to save you from boredom.
Monday, I wanted to go to Canada Computers to get my new dvd burner. But when I got there, I saw the gates covering the door. It's closed already? It's only 8pm. Normally stores close at 9pm right? But not Canada Computers! They close at 8pm! GREAT! What a waste of time. So instead, I got gas and went home. Whoohoo.
Tuesday was Purpose Driven Life small group at Victoria's again. On the way there, I almost got into a car accident. The roads were slick 'cuz it was raining, and I guess I was driving a bit too fast on a downhill curvy road (badbadbad). At one bend, I was turning right when all of a sudden the backend of my car lost traction. I was like AHHHH, and turn the wheel towards the slide like you're suppose to, luckily it straightened out in the nick of time 'cuz there was oncoming traffic! I was really lucky that I was able to stay in my lane the whole time. But wow, that was a real heart thumper and for a second there, I felt like Takumi Fujiwara from Initial D. HAHAHA!! :P
Anyway, at PDL, we watched a video of Rick Warren talking about the first week. He's a dork! Lol, only 'cuz he's pretty cheesy. Afterwards there was discussion, which I thought went pretty well. Don't remember much from it though. :S But it was good fellowshipping.
Wednesday, I worked an hour overtime 'cuz I needed to leave early on Thursday (will be explained in the Thursday section!). Work is going alright, it's busy here and there. After work, I instead of going straight home, I went to Tigerdirect.ca at Heartland to buy my dvd burner. I decided, screw Canada Computers! And so I did just that and bought from Tigerdirect.ca instead.
I also had an online fantasy pool draft in a public league. I almost forgot about the draft, but luckily, I was talking about hockey with Andre when I remembered. If we didn't talk, I would've completely forgot about it!
Thursday, left work early 'cuz I needed to get to the Drivers & License Office at Sheridan Mall so I could transfer the ownership of my car from my sister to me. I thought the lineup was gonna be pretty long, but in fact, it was pretty quick 'cuz there was NO line. Sweet. So we got everything filled out and paid the money that was needed and walked out with a new license plate number and poorer. But I'm finally an owner of a car! YAY! :D
Later Thursday evening, I installed my dvd burner and tried burning a dvd. Failed. Tried again, failed. WTF! NOOOOOo, this can't be happening. At least it could read DVDs and CDs. So I was happy about that, but it wouldn't BURN! Gah! So I gave up on it for the evening. And tried again on Sunday. It worked! WOOT! But at a lower speed.
Friday, went to Waterloo for the evening. It was nice seeing everyone there, and a lot of people were surprised to see me there. I guess that would be normal since I'm not in Waterloo anymore. So I got the generic questions, "What are you doing here?", "What are you up to?" etc. Y'know what I mean. But yeah, it was good. Went to The Grill after CCF, and then over to Westcourt, where I was staying for the night. Only got like 4hrs of sleep that night too because....
Saturday morning we had a hockey practice! That's one of many reasons why I was up in Waterloo. Hockey practice started at 7am, so I was up by 6.20am to get to the CIF at 6.30am. The practice itself was alright, but I kinda wished it was more productive and met my teammates. But oh well.
After practice some of us went to McDonald's for some breakfast. I made my own McMuffin out of the Big Breakfast. So I had bread-egg-half a hash brown-sausage-half a hash brown-egg-bread. HAHA..it was huge, but I ate it! MMMM..plus 2 extra hash browns and Fruitopia to wash it down with. It was yums!
Killed some time after McDonald's over at Steve's place 'cuz I needed to kill some time before the UWBookstore opened. It opens at 12pm. So yeah, we headed to Canadian Tire (W00T!) to get a few items and then back to Steve's place. It was finally 12pm and I headed off to campus to get my books.
Then I headed to the Cambridge Blessings to buy the Starfield concert tickets for the Sept 22nd concert in Cambridge. Ok, the drive to Cambridge was NOT fun. Why? Because I swear I could've died. I kinda fell asleep at the wheel for a couple seconds, but luckily it was on a straight. When I opened my eyes again, I was half on the shoulder! That was a real adrenaline boost 'cuz for the rest of the way I was on adrenaline. Finally got to the Blessings and bought the tickets. Afterwards, I was thinking, "Ok, I'm not gonna risk killing myself. I'm gonna take a nap." So, I napped for an hour in my car at the Blessings parking lot. It was a good nap, as I was able to drive back to Mississauga without yawning.
Stopped by Vince's place on the way back 'cuz I couldn't be home until close to 6pm since my sister was having her bridal shower at home. Watched a bit of Airplane! and Sister Act on tv. I left at 4.30pm 'cuz I didn't want to bother Vince anymore (plus he had to get ready for a wedding anyway) and went home. Snuck into the house, quickly and quietly went up to my room and stayed there until most of the guests left.
In the evening, I watched Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire finally. Borrowed it from Vince. Watched it with my brother.
This brings me to today, Sunday. Decided to go watch Anna get baptized at Hallelujah Chinese Evangelical Free Church in Scarborough. Carpooled with Mike. Eric, Calla, Evelyn, Alison, Cindy, and Josh were also there from CCF to support her. Also bumped into Gary since that was his home church too. Bunch of us went out for lunch at Mr. Greek's. Our waiter smelled. But, it was a good day despite that. :P ALMOST got emotional during the baptism, but NOPE! Me strong! :P
And then tonight, was the traditional MCBC fantasy pool live draft. This year it was held at Andre's house instead of the usual MCBC classroom. Thanks Andre for opening up your home for us to draft. From looking at the draft after it was completed, I'm predicting Alex to win and Arthur to finish last. As for myself. I don't know. I never really draft well, and my draft looks strikingly similar to the draft I had on Wednesday.
So here are my picks: (round - online draft - live draft)
