W2006 Da Been Lo - Game 6: 6-1 W
well that was a nice physical game...well, not that nice, 'cuz the other team were a bunch of cheapshots. but hey, we got the last laugh, roughing them up on the scoreboard, 6-1. bastards. one of their players even had the nerve to go up to one of our players at the end-of-game handshakes to pull him in & tell him, "don't fuck with me again." wow, ego. a freaking rednecked farmboy! i only call him that 'cuz he was wearing a black jersey with the words Redneck on it. what a loser man!
anyway, on to the game recap. Adam was our superstar this game, netting 4 goals, while Kerian & Chris added one a piece.
Adam's 1st goal was a partial break by himself during a line change. i was only on the ice for like 2 seconds when he scored! WOO got a +1 right off the bat. :P then on the ensuing faceoff, i drew a slashing call. the slash wasn't too bad, but it was penalizable since it obstructed me from getting the puck. so yeah, we were on the powerplay when Adam struck again on a rush. it was a little sloppy but it got done, i got a pass out in the neutral zone from someone (forget who), & i slid it up to Adam who went in & deked around the defense & scored. no +/- on that one since we were on the powerplay.
you know what, i just realized that i don't really remember many of the goals or how they were scored. probably 'cuz we as a team were focused on something else which i'll talk about later in the post. Adam's 3rd or 4th goal was off an assist from me as well. i dug it out of the corner, & just threw it out infront near the net, & all he had to do was tap it in. he didn't want to touch it but it was just sitting there. so another goal, another +1. i was also on the ice for another one of his goals i believe. so another +1. so a total of +3 & 2 assists, 1 on the powerplay.
now the story of this game was the physicality of it. the other team started hitting, playing the body rather than the puck when they started falling in a whole. how immature. is that how you plan on getting back into the game. i think that if they spent a little more energy trying to make plays, they could score more, rather than spending all their energy in taking us out.
JLo got knocked down a couple times. Drew got knocked down a couple times. Adam got knocked down a couple times. even i got knocked down a couple times. they were going after the players that were making an impact in the game. JLo & Drew probably got the worst of it.
JLo got hit twice pretty hard. i missed the first one so i can't really describe it. but apparently his head was down & they laid him out. deliberately apparently. i saw the 2nd one however, since it happened right infront of our bench. our whole bench just got up & started to scream. the guy just levelled Jon without the puck even being near, or maybe it passed by, but this is a non-contact league hello! so yeah, after the hit, the guy who laid the hit was so cocky that he waited for Jon to get up & started to jaw at him. wow, impressive huh. what losers.
the other big hit was on Drew. wasn't really a hit, but it was dirty enough. Drew was behind the net & just trying to get it out infront, but then the stupid Redneck guy just shoved him from behind on to the net, causing it to fall over. luckily the goalie didn't get hurt on the play, but that was dirty man! afterwards, i told Drew who shoved him from behind 'cuz he didn't know who did it. so on the ensuing play, we kinda kept an eye on him, & whenever he got the puck, we'd pressure him hard, slashing, hooking, doing whatever to knock him off the puck. then, there was a turnover & Drew went after the puck but the Redneck dude interfered & Drew just BOWLED him over. haha..what was even sweeter was that, the Redneck guy got the penalty for interference. i was just talking to Drew on the bench, & then i was like..wait..you didn't get a penalty?! lol..it was jokes.
but yeah, there were countless other infractions that should've been called, but weren't. the game was filled with penalties, mostly incurred by the other team. actually, it was all incurred by the other team 'cuz they were "lousy, lyin', low-down, four flushing carcasses". i swear, myself alone should've drew maybe 5-6 penalties. i was getting knocked over left, right, & center. it was crazy. hooks, slashes, trips, interference, bodychecks. there was no way they were playing the puck in the 3rd period, it was all body.
but you know what, they can suck it. we beat them, & that's all that matters. :P & they got a -4 Spirit of Competition score 'cuz they're losers. :P
