Let Me See The Light

let me see the light. interesting enough, that was the topic of the sermon this past Sunday at Community Fellowship Church. the light of the world gives life, truth, & joy. but it can always take away those three. light is good & bad.

they asked these questions at the end of the sermon:

1. how do you respond to the light?
2. how do you know you're getting the light? are things changing in your life?

so..how DO you respond to the light? in the Christian sense? if i were to ask myself that question, i think i'd answer it like this. i would want to go towards the light, and seek answers, so i can live the life, the truth, and the joy. maybe i'm already close to the light than i thought.

how would i know if i'm getting the light? are things changing in MY life? well i think those 2 questions are synonamous. i think that if things are changing in your life - things that you've prayed for - it is a testament of if you're getting the light, whether you know it or not. right now, i'm seeing a lot of things changing in my life (whether it be personal or family), & it's a real blessing. truly a great blessing. BUT, there's still something..something missing. however, i think i can finally say that i've prayed for something that i'm actually...conscious about, & i can say that i prayed hard about it. & i'm gonna see if my prayer has been answered. it's kinda, i guess, a bad way to go about it..testing God like that, but it will affirm my faith, my beliefs, & just give me a sense of awe. like just WOW, kinda awestruckness. in relation to the song lyrics i guess this part would be the bridge: "Why can't this be one of the times/When I can see with open eyes/Shine your light/I'll never forget for the rest of my life." i think that if whatever it was i prayed for happens, i'll never forget it. this is something that i wasn't BLIND to because as humans, we are blind to a lot of things in life, especially to the things that God does for us.

before, in previous posts, i've put this song up simply for the SOUND of the song, & how it was soothing. was introduced to it at Fall Lifesong 2005 when one of the bands performed it. it spoke to me then, but i guess it just subconsciously went away, but now it has resurfaced, stronger than ever, more relevant than ever, & just looking deeper into the lyrics, i saw how much this song really applied to myself.

so make me a believer, right here & now, touch me somehow...i'm down on my knees, i don't know how but i'm ready to see, clear every shadow of doubt in my mind, 'cuz i want to believe.

i want to be someone who walks the light, someone who follows the light.
