W2006 Has Begun
so the term has gotten underway on Tuesday. well, i got some things out of the way quickly, such as falling asleep in class. i fell asleep in my second class of the day, which happened to be a night class as well, with a prof that i normally puts me to sleep. it was in Emotionally Disturbed Child. but a good 5min nap during break did the trick since i was awake the rest of the way.
earlier that day i had my Holocaust in History class. it was pretty simple, the prof just went over the syllabus & the various topics we'd be discussing in class. then he let us go. pretty much the same thing for my Wednesday class, Interpersonal Relations (more on this class later). the only other class i still need to be introduced to is Dark Side of Sexuality, which is a Monday night class.
after night class on Tuesday, a bunch of us CCFers went to Mikey's Eatery for a little good-bye gathering for Joanna. she's going to Ottawa (or somewhere around there i think) for coop. i hope she has a blast out there & learns lots from the experience! :)
i honestly don't have much to say. i was gonna write a post about stuff that i hate, but i decided not to do that...yet. haha..
today, as in Thursday, Esther & Estelle came up for a visit. so a bunch of us went out for dinner at Morty's Pub (haha Clara, we're all old enough to get in! :P). we waited about an hour for our seats 'cuz well, it's a popular place on Thursday nights since it's cheap wings night. we got out table in the basement of the pub, so it was pretty good, not too loud, but not too quiet either. & we were parked right infront of a TV, which was good 'cuz they were playing the World Junior Championships Finals between Canada & Russia. watched the 1st & 2nd period over my 10 honey garlic wings..mmm soooo good! Esther said she saw a different side of me tonight 'cuz of the way i was reacting to the game. i guess i'm more..violent? haha..i wanted Canada to crush the Russians at every chance they had! haha, so Canada did, on the bodies & on the scoreboard. 5-0 Gold Medal game win? that's sick!
anyway, i noticed that some of the Morty's waitresses were pretty hot. that's all i'll say. i wasn't staring at them or anything. i'm not a pervert. :P speaking of hot..ok, well, she's not hot, but she's cute i think. my Interpersonal Relations prof is pretty cute. she's pretty young too, i'm guessing late 20s, maybe 28-29. when i saw her, i whispered to Lorna, "that's our TA right?" hahaha..but in fact, she was actually our prof! :O i was kinda shocked, but it was cool. sometimes it's refreshing to have a young prof, at least she can maybe relate to us a little. she's just 1-2yrs removed from completing her PhD anyway. so yeah, i thought that was pretty cool.
i'm enrolled in 4 classes, but i'm finding it hard to decide which class to drop. i don't know what Dark Side of Sexuality is gonna be like, but i've had the prof that's teaching the class before & he's pretty funny. for those who have had Professor Burris before know how interesting he is, but how hard his tests are. even though he has hard tests, it's worth it 'cuz he makes the material interesting.
right now, it's looking like i'll either drop Holocaust in History, despite the profs good first impressions, but the class is a lot of reading & work. although, i may buy some of the textbooks just for my own enjoyment. i find the Holocaust to be an interesting & important event. the other class i would consider dropping is Emotionally Disturbed Child. the prof is kinda boring, but there doesn't seem to be a lot of work for that class. Interpersonal Relations is a keeper, NOT because of the prof, but because the topic being taught seems to be interesting, & hopefully it will help me understand relationships a little better. as a bonus, there's not much work involved & there's no final! :)
so yeah, it's probably gonna end up being either Holocaust in History or Emotionally Disturbed Child. so if i drop Holocaust in History, that means it eliminates 1 lecture on Tuesdays, & i'll have all of Thursday free (i already have Friday free too, so 4 day weekend again!). if i drop Emotionally Disturbed Child, then i eliminate my Tuesday night class. either way, i'll have a pretty good schedule.
right now i'm bored, & i don't feel like sleeping. i already watched Happy Gilmore tonight. i don't have to wake up early tomorrow either. but i'll probably go on to campus at some point to visit the Used Bookstore & the regular Bookstore.
have a good weekend everyone.
