2006 Is Here
Two Thousand Six - 2006. i'm expecting big things & i pray to God that he'll provide for me & my family. :)
it's a brand spanking new year. i hope everyone's year has gotten off to a great start! :)
new year's eve was a pretty eventful day, & a fun one at that. i had the privilege of spending most of it with my good friend Brenda. of all the days in the holiday, new year's eve was the day we both didn't really have a set plan, so it worked out for us. :)
so, we went to see King Kong to pass by the afternoon. LONG movie with COOL giant bugs! hehheh! :P well i was glad i wasn't eaten by one of them anyway. :P but yeah, there were some unneccessarily dragged on scenes, but all in all, a good movie that could've & probably should've been a lot shorter.
after that, we headed downtown Nathan Phillips Square to check out the scene. it was starting to get packed, but we were hungry, so we went to a pub to eat (forget the name of it, Chicago's or something). watched a bit of the Canada/USA World Junior Championship game. got there with Canada winning 2-1, left with them tied at 2.
so we headed back to Nathan Phillips & skated around for 2hrs or so..but like 30mins in (at 9pm), the stage came alive. it was the CityTV's New Year's Bash or something. the music was really loud, although it didn't affect me as much as it affected Brenda. her ears were ringing. i'm already deaf so, it doesn't matter. :P HOWEVER, there was this one girl that was HORRIBLE. even her singing hurt my ears..my LEFT one. that's how bad it is. if you know me, my left ear is my bad ear!
anyway, we left at like 10pm, & headed over to Derek's place 'cuz he was holding a new year's eve party with CCF ppl. we got there & they were watching a chinese movie called Seven Swords. we were kinda lost with the plot, all we know was that there was a lot of sword action & weird sex scenes. hahaha..
we watched like the minute before midnight struck, everyone yelled "happy new year" & then went back to the movie hahaha.. i guess that's the way it should be, afterall it's just another day, we just move the last digit of the year up one.
so yeah, the movie ended at like 1am. stayed maybe another 1hr, left at 2am to drive Brenda home, & then go to pick up my brother.
when i got off the 403, i called my brother, but he didn't have a signal, so i circled the street that he was gonna be on, didn't recognize any of the cars, so i got tired of trying to get in contact with him, so i went home. half hour later, he calls me. blah! what a waste of gas. so i picked him up from his friend's place & drove another friend of his home before we went home. after all said & done, it's like 3am, & i'm cranky 'cuz i wanted to sleep.
New Year's Day. Happy New Year. woke up for church & felt like a zombie. i was just sitting in the pew & just staring. i was tired & cranky still. 4.5hrs is definately not enough sleep. so then, i came home & took a nap before lunch.
left for Scarborough at 2pm 'cuz i had a hockey tournament to play. good stuff! first game was at 3.30pm, & it normally takes about 30mins max to get ready for the game.
the first game we played well in the first 25 minutes, but we kinda fell apart in the 2nd half. so suffice to say, we lost that game! for that game, i played on a line with Chris's dad centering, & Eric as the other winger. the second game was a lot better. we played Adam's team. we had a pretty good effort in a losing cause, we had the right intensity. i don't think i've ever really skated this hard before & it felt good. i centered Brenda & Clara for the rest of the tournament. i think we only lost by 1 or 2. in the 3rd game, i think it was the 5th place game..haha..it was a close game all around. there were only 6 teams in the tournament, & we were seeded 6th. but we pulled this one out of our butts! i was kinda getting pissed 'cuz my legs were giving out on me. my left leg started to cramp up on me. it was soooo annoying. but yeah, we were able to tie it up in regulation time, & the game came down to a shootout. took 4 skaters from each team to decide the game. only one goal was scored in the shootout, & that goal was from our team! WOOOT! so we finished the tournie in 5th place!
man, after the tournament i was beat. but there was still a free dinner to be eaten. but they served either tuna, turkey, or egg salad sandwiches with fries & a small drink. i chose the turkey, but they put mayo in it! NOOOOOOOOO..so i didn't eat it. Jon, Eric, & Chris split my sandwich..that sucks man. oh well. had a pizza pocket & ice cream cake at home. i was originally gonna stop off at the McDonald's near my place, but i really had to go pee, so i went home instead & relieved myself. it felt really good! aaaaaaaaahhhh!
so yeah, the drive home from Scarborough was interesting. not as scary as other times where i'm tired, but yeah, was going in & out of consciousness. that's not cool. it was tempting to close the eyes just for a little longer on straightaways. but yeah, dangerous, especially at night.
so anyway, yeah, i got home, & proceeded to do my laundry so i can start packing. watched True Lies while waiting...& eating the food i mentioned earlier.
didn't sleep until about 3-4am or so. not good since i had to wake up at 10am to go grocery shopping with my mom to prepare me for coming back up here to Waterloo.
left 'Sauga at around 1.30-2pm-ish & arrived here in Waterloo at around 3pm-ish. signed in & unpacked a few things, like this computer. :P oh & the bed. the bed looks so comfy right now. mm sleep. soo goood. i slept on the way up, & luckily i didn't have to drive 'cuz i was so exhausted.
so yeah, i met my new housemate. but the way we met was kinda weird 'cuz it wasn't in the house, but rather at the sign-ins. i sat down beside her while she was talking to the Division Manager & then Grace points out that she was my housemate! haha..so i was like oh, hey! haha..so yeah. she seems like a nice girl & all that so far. so yeah. it's cool.
Eric, Mike, Johnny, & Grace came over for dinner & Cynthia joined us too. oh yeah, i didn't mention my new housemate's name. her name is Cynthia. HAHA.. :P & yeah, ever since then, i've been waiting for Odie to finish partying it up here in Waterloo. such a party animal. don't let her small frame disillusion you. she ain't no innocent little girl. HAHAHAH.. :P i'm just kidding Odie. don't get mad! :P
*edit* ok, well she finally came over close to midnight. done all her late night partying. :P so we watched The New Police Story with Jackie Chan as the star. then i walked her home, or rather to the place she was staying at. her Puzzle popple stunk too. he better not have stunk up Flipper & Spinnaker! *crosses arms & gives cut eye*
so yes. tomorrow is the first day of school for the Winter term. my LAST term (or what i hope is my last term :S). taking some courses called The Holocaust in History, Interpersonal Relations, Emotionally Disturbed Child, & The Dark Side of Sexuality.
i also checked out my marks for Fall term. the last of my marks has finally been posted. so i know all of them now. finished with a 68 in Educational Psychology, 72 in Psychology of Adolescence, 61 in Introduction to Sexuality, & a surprising 88 in Sociology of Education.
the 88 in SoE was surprising 'cuz well, i hated that class & i felt like i didn't learn anything from it. but i did really REALLY well on my last assignment & take home exam. we were actually able to find out how we did on all our assignments. so i did bad on the 1st assignment, 69. so i wasn't expecting good marks on the 2nd assignment, as well as the final. so i was really surprised when i saw my marks. i was so surprised that i swore. "wtf?! oh $h!t!". 2nd assignment - 97% :S NINETY FREAKING SEVEN PERCENT! that's like the highest mark i ever got on ANYTHING in university! i couldn't believe my eyes! & then i look down below it, my mark for the take home final - 95%..... :O NINETY FREAKING FIVE PERCENT!! i was just beaming after that. that is..crazy! just crazy man! it saved my average for the term haha.. just..nuts. :D
ok anyway...
since i'm talking to Clara right now about my blog (*edit* well, i WAS talking to Clara when i started this), i'll write a little something for her. hahaha..she has an obsession. with the Toronto Maple Leafs hockey club. but she has an even bigger obsession with a player. maybe even a passionate one. the player? Bryan McCabe. oh how she adores him, to the point that she'll even drool over him. :P but she's not that crazy, don't get me wrong. she just..loves him...a lot! :P hahaha..another thing about Clara, although she is a die-hard Leaf fan, she dispises at least one Leaf. none no more than this one player who was named to the Finnish Olympic team. the mystery player? Aki Berg. any time you bring this name up in a conversation, she will cringe & maybe even scream about her dislike for him. she believes that Berg will be the downfall of the Finnish team, & maybe even the Leafs! a third thing about Clara & her beloved Leafs. she even makes fun of them. the player that gets the butt of her jokes is none other than the Leaf captain, Mats Sundin. every time Sundin is brought up, she'll probably associate him to baldness because, well, he is going bald. she's so mean. she's mean to Berg & Sundin, but loves McCabe to death. she has a weird relationship with the Leafs. but in the end, she'll always be a cool little girl who likes to play hockey with the big boys :P
well time for bed, to bed i said! tomorrow is a school day. hooray. *twirls fingers & while rolling eyes*
i need to find more interesting things to write about other than i what i freaking do.
