An Interesting Night

Esther came up today because it's her reading week this week. i guess college reading weeks are later than universities.

so, she came over here after my class at around 5.15pm. took a quick mini tour of the place and chatted with Jeff and i for a while. then off to Joyce's place. Joyce has so many neat gadgets to her disposal. it's not fair! :P a tiny laptop, desktop computer, wireless mouse, an iPod, a palm pilot, webcam, digicam..you name it, she probably has it!

so we were over at Joyce's for a while trying to figure out where to go for dinner. Joyce is very weird..she always says "Whaaat? What's that look for?!" haha..and she also showed us the Fat Dutch Singer. some of you guys may have seen it, it's been circulating the net lately. it's just a fat kid singing along to a song and doing chair dancing. she's so amused by that! and also she was pronouncating words like very distinctly. i swear she seemed higgh! haha...but she says it's 'cuz Esther came up and she's so excited, but i think that's far from the truth. she probably got high before we came over. hehehe..just kidding! :P

so we decided or it was suggested, Rude Native. it's a nice poshy restaurant/bistro on King St in Downtown Waterloo and they specialize in fusion foods, so they mix certain cultures of foods together to make nice appetizers and entrees and such. it's pretty neat. the food was pretty good, i got the Vegetable Thai-Style Stir-Fry with chicken. it was yummy, although it was getting pretty spicy by the end 'cuz of spice build up. then for dessert i had a Chocolate Mud Pie. mmmMMM good! it was a yummy dinner! at dinner was Esther, Joyce, Joannie (i think, is that how you spell her name?!), and i.

dinner discussion was pretty amusing too. when i was picking out my dessert, Joyce asks, "Why is it called Chocolate Mud Pie? is it because it's made out of mud? hehehe" it was a joke, but y'all know how Joyce is sometimes, asks weird questions! :P it was funny. then i remembered the time when she asked about Jeff's Toyota Highlander last term. she asked, "Is it called a Highlander 'cuz it's high off the land?" HAHAHA!! it was so funny. Joyce, you are funny!!! it was a good laugh, so she was like, "Well it's logical, it's high off the land, so it's called a Highlander!"

here's how the rest of the conversation went, more or less:

BC: "Why is the Honda Accord called the Accord?"
JY: "Because it's made According to a design!"
EC: "But all cars are made from a specific design!"
J(dunno her last name!): "So what about the Honda Civic?"
JY: "I don't know."
BC: "Ok, so why is the Smartcar called a Smartcar? because it's small and efficient? but it's not that smart 'cuz if you have an accident, you're dead!"
J: "Well it's not efficient i don't think, it's more like..practical."
BC: "Ok, that makes sense then. ok what about the Ford Focus? why would anyone want to focus on such an ugly car?!"
JY: "The Toyota Echo..does it echo?"

hahaha..weird conversation, but funny nonetheless. it was a fun dinner. it was nice seeing everyone again after a long time. :)

after dinner, Esther dropped me off at the CIF so i could go and play badminton. man playing on a full stomach made me sluggish. i couldn't really smash today 'cuz jumping wasn't a good idea after eating. but it was a good workout anyway 'cuz barely anyone showed up. so i played from 9-11pm straight with no breaks.

today i also got a reply from my Contemporary Japanese Society prof. man he's one of the nicest profs i've ever had! he told me that i could hand my essay in on March 15th, and said that it's not good to rush things! HAHAHA..SWEET! oh man! better make good use of the extra time yah? :P

so now i'm here..and it's 12.17am already. i didn't realize what time it was..seems so much earlier for some reason. better get some work done yah?

oh i feel like watching a movie..hehehe.. :P
