Hot Potting

no, not hot boxing or doing weed. i mean FOOD!

so tonight a bunch of us went out for Hot Pot in Markham. that bunch includes Betty, Sam, Joyce, Kat, Vicki, Kev, Jeff, and i. lots of good laughs came out of this night.

most of the laughs came at the expense of Jeff tho. i'm glad that he's able to take it like a man. haha..but sometimes, Jeff just brings it on to himself! lol! but i will not indulge on what specifics happened. ;P

but where to start?!

alright the night began at 4.30pm when i left my house to start picking up ppl. first off was Joyce's place. completely missed her house 'cuz i was driving a bit..fast. haha..but i reversed on to her driveway, so all is good.

next stop, Kat's house. or what we thought was Kat's house. haha..i haven't picked up Kat in a while, and i haven't come to her house from the opposite side. so yeah, we drove to the wrong house on the same street. i should've known, 'cuz i remembered that her house wasn't green, and they didn't have a dog 'cuz when i rang the door bell a dog went crazy. hahaha..then we drove down further, and then we guessed her house again..but this time, we called her to make sure that it was infact her house. it was. :)

next stop, Betty at Central Parkway Mall. no problems there! you don't really need to know why pick her up from there. :)

then we're off to Markham, First Markham Place to be exact! :P i had to run an errand for my sister there. her contact lens ripped on her today, and she had no extras, so she had to order some today at Three Owls Optics. plus, she had her lens changed for one of her glasses. so when when we got to First Markham, we walked around, and loitered some for 15mins before they were ready for pick up. i really like that place. they're fast and efficient. they don't try to rip you off either and very courteous.

but the one thing i don't understand with my sister is that, why didn't she order them earlier if she knew she was on her last pair?! i dunno beats me. another thing is that she can't take a joke. earlier before i left the house, i accidentally brought my parent's cordless phone down the stairs with me, but by the time i noticed i was already on the main floor and in a rush. my sister was half way down the stairs, so i asked her if she could bring the phone back up. she was like "no! i'm already halfway down the stairs!" so i was like, "ok fine, well i guess i can't pick up your contacts for you 'cuz i'm in Mississauga! hahaha" then she goes all mad and started to like say crap about "well if you don't want to do it for me then don't, it's not like i'm begging you to do it." i just rolled my eyes.."whatever man" so i just left it at that. so frustrating sometimes..she can make fun and joke at me, but i can't do it back.

*sigh*....

ok anyway, back to the night. so after i picked up my sister's stuff, or during rather, we were loitering at different parts of the mall. haha..i think 3-4 places. it was funny 'cuz we noticed that we were doing it, and it turns out to be the theme of the evening. the loitering was fun to say the least. lol..i didn't know that loitering could be that much fun, especially the last time we loitered in the underground parking lot. haha..that story to follow later. :P

so, after everything was said and done at First Markham, we started to decide where we were going to eat for dinner. choices were either hot pot or kbbq. well, i'm sure y'all have guessed by now that we went hot pot. if you haven't, i don't know what's wrong with you. :P haha!

so hot pot was over at Times Square, below that big huge Times Dynasty restaurant. haha it's like a shadow looming over the hot pot restaurant. man it hot and steamy in there, but then again..it's hot pot! not a sauna. so yeah, 2 pots for 8 ppl, you do the math. :P they served this weird plum juice for us to drink. i thought it was tea when i picked it up and drank it. but when i drank it was like..whoa..this is kinda bitter mang! it was weird..i needed soy sauce to get rid of the taste. haha..

dinner part was pretty good, lots of good chats, jokes, food, and picture taking.

now speaking of pictures, this is where the loitering in the underground parking comes in. we were trying to decide where to go afterwards 'cuz it was like 10.15pm. still lots of time to do something right? some ppl wanted to go home and study (geeks!), Jeff wanted to do a card picture (so fobby!). the rest of us didn't care; bowling was suggested too, but no one else really wanted to bowl. hide-and-go-seek was also mentioned. that wouldn't work out too well in the parking lot. lol. so we ended up loitering some more, even a car drove AROUND us. haha..that was funny, they were watching us, we were watching them..hahaha..oo a stare down! :P

so, we found something to do. 4 of us had digicams. would've been 5 if my batteries hadn't died. so we took millions of pictures! lol..there were pictures of Jeff doing weird things, there were pictures of the group, there were pictures of the guys, there were pictures of the girls. lots of weird pictures, but most of them are funny. but for some of those pictures, it's a "you had to be there" moment. there was lots of laughing going on while the "photo shoot" was on. haha..i wonder how all the photos turned out. :P

so after about an hour doing that, we decided to head home. drove different ppl home this time tho, except for one. had Betty, Vicki, and Kev. i have to comment on the highway system of the 400 series highways. namely the 404 transfer to the 401.

ok at first i thought i was in the correct lane. it said on the sign which lanes were going 401 West. so i was in that lane. then there were new signs that said 401 East/Don Valley Parkway for one lane and then 401 West for another lane. here's the weird part that will throw off almost any driver that doesn't drive that highway often. the lane that was in, which was the left lane just all of a sudden ended..like out of the blue. and i was like what the heck..i could've smashed into the stupid water barrels..but i didn't, i had lots of time to move into the right lane. but honestly..what the heck..with no warning and the sign was like freaking puny so you couldn't see it until you practically passed it. so dumb! there was like construction going on i guess, so there were a million lines on the ground. which one do you follow?! dang mang! stupid construction!

ok moving along, i get to another fork. no mention of anything until it was too late. the left sign said Express, and the other one says Exit Leslie St and some other streets..i was on the right..so i was like..what the heck..am i exiting?! geeez, luckily i was just going to the Collectors Lanes instead of the Express Lanes. like seriously Ministry of Transportation..MAKE YOUR SIGNS BIGGER!!!! daaaaaaang! it's not like i had bad eyes either, my passengers saw exactly the same thing i saw and they thought that it was stupid too..no warnings no nothing. i'm lucky that i was driving at like 11.30pm where there are like no cars on the road otherwise i could have been in an accident.

dumb..

so yeah, dropped everyone off, and got home at around midnight and uploaded the few pictures that i have taken. however i haven't posted them up on Imagestation yet tho. check the sidebar for updates. :)

oh yeah it was soo good to wake up at 1.30pm today. i thought i'd like to share that! :D hope to do it again tomorrow! HAHA! :P

so all in all, tonight was a really fun night. glad it happened. and it was really nice to see and hang out with some ppl that i haven't seen and hung out with in a while. definately a night to remember. :D need more days/nights like that mang!

alright, spideymang OUT!
