weird sports tidbits. but i bet most of you know the stories already, but whatever!
i'm sure all sports fans have heard about the whole Ron Artest thing in Detroit. was it really his fault tho? i don't think so. sure he KINDA fouled Ben Wallace hard, but it wasn't flagarant. but anyway, Big Ben took exception and brawl breaks out. that seems to be a trend, at least in my mind, when it comes to the Pacers versus Pistons. bitter rivals i must say. anyway, so Artest is just laying down at the announcers table and then some stupid Piston fan throws a plastic beverage bottle at him. so Artest goes up to the stands and starts tussling with him. Stephon Jackson gets involved. then some other fan goes after Artest on the court and Artest just punches him in the face, and then Jermaine O'Neal comes in and sucker punches the fan when he gets up. geez. all three players..probably fined and suspended for sure. but yeah, talk about crazy man. Piston fans are cah-ray-zeee man, so fiesty.
anyway, Raptors lost again today. 101-94 to the Seattle SuperSonics again. a promising 3-0 start was a fraud. gave us false hopes. anyway, Vince Carter got BOOED!! IN Toronto! why? 'cuz of these trade rumours coming out of Portland. rumours say that the Raptors are gonna deal Carter and Jalen Rose to the Trailblazers for Shareef Abdur-Rahim and Derek Anderson. what do you think about this? personally, i dont care! :P
furthermore, the former Montreal Expos who have now moved to Washington D.C. have finally found a new name. the Washington Nationals. in my opinion, it sounds...stupid. it's so patriotic. Nationals, would you look at that! they're in D.C. the nation's capital! OOOOOOO..i think i would've preferred Grays or Senators. Nationals just sounds dumb.
can you believe it? the Toronto Argonauts are back in the Grey Cup finals? that's just weird! and they knocked off the Montreal Alouettes! and even took out their quarterback, Anthony Cavillio! HAHAHAA! anyway, GO ARGOS! :D
more about football. i spend too much time on my football pool. maybe i just wanna win! lol. afterall, it's beginner's luck that i'm in 1st place. i don't really know anything about football, and i'm in 1st place, that's crazy. i'm technically tied for 1st in wins, but have the 1st place 'cuz i have more performance points from my players. *thumbs up!* hopefully i can keep up, but Kevin and Jesse are charging hard after me.
alright, enought about sports and more about me! hahaha that sounded so selfish. maybe i am! well it's MY blog! :P
ok, so i went to sleep last night (or this morning) at 8am. the sun was freaking out! i woke up at 10.30am. i wasn't planning on sleeping, but i ended up sleeping for a bit. i guess it proved to be good since i was awake for class and handed in that stupid assignment.
after class, went over to SLC like usual and found Eric and chatted for a bit. i'm getting tired of eating Brubakers' food so i decided to head over to plaza to find something to eat there. decided on Mikey's and got some singapore-style noodles (yellow spicy one?) and sesame chicken. came back home and enjoyed it while watching Back To The Future Part II.
3pm, i passed out. i needed sleep so i slept until 6pm. woke up for dinner and then headed off to CCF. tonight was drama night, and there were 6 groups each having to come up with a short skit. the topic i think was "Who am I?" it was based on Moses and the Burning Bush. so, our skit was a fashion show! hahaha! it was funny. so there was music, female fans, male fans, and the model. the model was God because he was indescribable. us fans were trying to describe Him, but we couldn't. so that was the whole basis of our skit. i didn't come up with the idea. :P the other skits were pretty funny too. i think i liked the one with the judging of ppl best. it was funny and so true of today's society because we tend to judge ppl by appearance and surface actions. we never know what one's true motives are until we know about their background more and understand them as a person.
later that evening, our hockey team had the ice for one last time. so we invited CCF to come joing for free skate at the CIF arena. several ppl took up the offer and it was pretty fun. we were able to just fool around and chat on the ice and play a little ice tag. that was a work out! lol! my skates are so dull! i gotta sharpen them! :P
so that was basically my night. this weekend will be a weekend of rest and sleep. i'll be watching several movies. plan on watching Zoolander, 8 Mile, and Bend It Like Beckham. and also watch a game of football on Global, whichever game they decide to show. i hope it's a good match up. but i do want to get a head start on my last paper i have to do that's due on Wednesday. so yeah, i'll try to start research for that. other than that, it should be a relaxing weekend. :)
