the funny thing with that is that, when i went back up to the 2nd floor of the SLC where Eric and Betty were sitting. they saw that i had a mouse, and they're like. "you bought that? what are you doing? it's illegal! send it back!" hahaha..i dunno i thought it was funny. i dunno if you do.
anyway, yesterday (Friday) went over to Eric's place for a little CCF Thanksgiving Potluck. i brought...canned juice. yes we stopped off at Sobey's before we headed over to pick up a few more things. the gathering was pretty good. mingled and stuff, played games, watched The Italian Job. it was all good! :)
so today, or this whole weekend, is designated studying weekend. with lots of breaks in between. hahahahaa!! i think i did that too much today. tomorrow i will try to be more diligent. afterall, tomorrow is a different subject. today i studied Popular Music & Culture. but i only got through 1 chapter today. disappointing. maybe it's 'cuz i was taking notes for it too. i dunno. it shouldn't take me a whole day to go thru 1 chapter. seriously! that's way too long! what the heck?!
anyway, music is a wonderful thing. i'm learning lots from that music class. it's very interesting. the history of popular music and how all the different styles evolved.
i like some of the old stuff like this 1954 hit by The Chords. it's called "Sh-boom". it's really cool! it's hard to find lyrics for this particular song since their song wasn't that well-known. actually it was well-known, but only 'cuz of the cover version of this song. yeah, since The Chords were a black group, a white group covered this song (meaning they copied it) because radio stations wouldn't play black material. so when a black song was getting big on like the black radio, the white ppl would cover the song, and the black song would be pulled off mainstream radio and the white group made all the money. what a rip eh?? the white group that got to cover this song was called the Crew Cuts. the sound of the song has completely changed! it's more..sailory if you know what i mean. like The Chords version was very..sexual sounding, or it sounded cool. it was more personal really. but the Crew Cuts version sounds distant, and clean. i dunno..if you wanna listen, let me know and i'll send you the two songs and you can agree or disagree with me! :)
oh, life could be a dream
life could be a dream
doo doo dooo sh-booom
oh, life could be a dream (sh-boom)
if i could take you up in paradise up above (sh-boom)
if you would tell me i'm the only one that you love
life could be a dream, sweetheart
(hello, hello again, sh-boom and hopin' we'll meet again)
oh, life could be a dream (sh-boom)
if only all my precious plans would come true (sh-boom)
if you would let me spend my whole life lovin' you
life could be a dream, sweetheart
now every time i look at you
something is on my mind
if you do what i want you to
baby, we'd be so fine!
oh, life could be a dream (sh-boom)
....
haha..it's so cool sounding..it's gonna go on my next cd. :P
anyway, tomorrow it's all sports for me. not playing sports, studying it! Sociology of Sport. sounds like fun. i have so much reading to do for that class it's ridiculous. what am i gonna do with you b?
an update on the ankle. it's getting better, BUT it feels as if it has plateaued in terms of the healing process. i felt like i was making rapid progression with it healing 'cuz i was able to start walking normally in a matter of days without the use of crutches. but there's still discomfort in the ankle. i still can't put outward pressure on my ankle, so that means in hockey i probably can't stop without it hurting and rolling again. but yeah, it's been like that for a while. i just hope that this discomfort isn't permanent. it would limit me in doing a lot of things that i could normally do! *sigh*. damn you volleyball! damn you!
*sigh*...time to sleep..?
