My Friend Named Odie
Yeah, she gets her own post! Wow!
Tonight I hung out with my very good friend, Odie. We went to see the Toronto Raptors take on the Boston Celtics. It's too bad that she didn't get to see Chris Bosh play since it was her very first basketball game ever at the Air Canada Centre (ACC). Maybe even her very first event at the ACC as well.
Anyway, she was great company tonight and a very amusing person! Here are some tidbits from today and from the past that I thought were funny.
As we were sitting down, looking around the arena and watching the pre-game warm-up, we see a guy walk out from a section entrance wearing a mini-basketball net like a backpack. Odie sees him and makes a comment, "Look at that guy, what a nerd!!" That gave me a chuckle because she thought that the person was actually a Raptors fan, but in fact it was one of those in-game entertainment guys that always toy around with you making you do stupid stuff and then in the end gives the free giveaway to someone else that has a cute baby or something. So we got a good laugh out of that comment.
She also noticed that number 24 was getting a lot of points! She was like, "That guy has a lot of points, like maybe 10 of them." She had not discovered the box score of the players on the floor on top of the Jumbotron until I pointed out that he has 16 points (at the time she asked). When she saw it, you should've saw her eyes. It was like a child on Christmas morning, "Coool!!!"
In the late stages of the game, she started making comments about the woman sitting in front of us, calling her a creeper because she was taking pictures of a baby that she doesn't even know. The baby was sitting a few rows down from us. Every time the woman took a picture, she kept on saying, "What a creeper! That's so creepy!!" I'm sure the creeping woman heard. I think the funnier comment was when the creeper said, "It would be weird if the mother turned around and saw me taking these pictures!!" Geez, YA THINK?!
Other quirkiness of Odie:
Once at a Blue Jays game, she inadvertently blurted out loud, "Hey, look! K-K-K!!" Pointing towards the strike out count for free PizzaPizza. There were pre-dominately white ppl sitting around us....
Last but not least, and I think this is the funniest of all. She believed Joel when he told her that Superman was Batman's brother.
Despite all these funny moments, Odie is a great person, and a great friend. She's a great listening ear and tries to be there for you whenever she can. She has a great personality and is fun to be around. Guys, this is not a advertisement. :P
It's too bad she's all the way in Mexico for most of the year!
Cheers Odie! :D
